If macro isn't your thing, he'll let you know. He's very harsh but it's because he wants the best for all his students. Despite his harshness, you'll do well in his class, even if you're under class average, you'll be wayyyy above school average. He's approachable and incredibly knowledgable. Content is kind of hard. Make sure to ask him about the time he got help captive in Lebanon! Overall cool guy and he's super nice outside of class but in class he can be a bit much.

You will do amazing in his class. Don't get me wrong, the course is difficult and there is a lot of material covered. However, he gives ridiculous amounts of bonus points (you'll often have over 100 points, and the extra will be carried over to your next assignment/test). You're gonna learn so much with Thierry, because he's seriously a very knowledgeable guy. Extremely eccentric and a little too blunt at times, but truly cares and is passionate about macro.

I had Thierry for Macro and it was great! Learned a lot about economics and how the money system works, thanks to Thierry's incessant explanations. The exams and assignment can be hard if you do not do the homework, so do it, no matter how many hours it takes. He explains at a high tempo, so keep up, but he answers any questions and is always available to help out. Honestly, you put in a lot of work, and you will do well. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect class if you are interested in commerce or pursuing an economics-related field, as Thierry is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond what other teachers offer for the course to truly inform you of everything you would ever need to know in the field of economics.
However, for macro, if you are a general social science student OR do not plan on going to business school, STEER CLEAR. He admits his class is the hardest of any econ. class in the school! Choose wisely!

Thierry is beyond knowledgable in economics however he teaches at such a high level that it's hard to understand. I do not recommend this class unless you wish to pursue economics later in life and already have an understanding of the economics world. He is condescending and rude to students when he calls on them by singling them out in front of the class. I would not take a class of his again and would not recommend him. But I would recommend buying his textbook for other classes.

Straight up one of the best teachers at Abbott, he goes way beyond what is expected at the CEGEP level by giving his students the practical applications of economic theories. I'm a finance and Econ major and I'll still go through his book every now and then to review some topics because his book. Brilliant teacher, -although he does have some biases- but he is always open to debate. Plus he lets you redo exams. Literally impossible to fail or do poorly just show up and do your homework.

Took Thierry for Macro. As a person, Thierry is really nice and friendly; however, as a teacher, he was kind of unclear. He skipped from topic to topic way too quickly in class, and I had to really read the textbook several times to understand the material. He cares a lot about his students and will help you if you ask. Gives a CRAZY amount of bonus points. If you work, you can pass the course and maybe even get 100. But there was A LOT of work, especially since he doesn't explain that much.

By far the WORST teacher i've ever had at John Abbott. This teacher basically goes on and on from his textbook, all to basically go to class and hear someone recite a book to you. Does not care about his students, will take off points for the most useless things, wants things done HIS way or else it is not up to standards. Overall arrogant personality, thinks he is such a great educator when he is just a horrible teacher. Stay far away, do yourself a favor and have someone else teach you micro.

If you do the multiple choice review you'll for sure see similar questions in the exam. There are no surprises what so ever in his exams part multiple choice part problem solving. He's crazy - but he's the best you're gonna get for a macro teacher. He's funny, bordering on offensive, but it's better than being a total bore - he's always engaging and he tells you stuff that's actually relevant so you can see real life applications of the course content. Also, it's basically impossible to fail his class, he gives out so many bonus points it's insane (I finished the course with 100% - with probably like 30 bonus points to spare).

This guy is nice out of class, but as a teacher, my god. There are many things wrong with the way that he teaches. The beginning of the semester was very relaxed. We had many 3 small homework assignments. As we're approaching the end of semester, we have an assignment, test, or project due almost every class. This doesn't include the mind-numbingly boring textbook, video lectures and class lectures that you're expected to keep up on. Stay away because this class is going to ruin my semester.

Supposedly he is the best Macro teacher at Abbott. I personally didn't like his dry humor and boring jokes, he rambled a lot and made it difficult to concentrate. He gives practise exams a week before the actual test and the test is in the EXACT same format and has similar questions, so do the practise test! He even marks the practise test for you (not for grades) so you know how well you would do on an actual exam!

If you have the choice, take Thierry. He will strike you as slightly crazy at first, but you'll get used to it. He talks a lot. Buy his book and keep it for university, he wrote the entire thing. All his exams are multiple choice, but don't assume they will be easy, because you really have to memorize the details to be 100% sure about the answer. Calculations take you back to grade 9. TN is among my 2 best teachers in college. He will give u EVERY chance to pass, but you just have to take them. These things include test corrections, bonus marks, extra assignments, review sessions, etc. but one logical thing is evident. if u want that extra mark you actualy have to put in work. For sure coming back to his micro class, hes a nice and at times funny guy. He is logical to reason with when u think something was marked wrong, etc.

He's good and wants his students to pass but his lectures are not easy to understand and he goes way too fast.

He is THE BEST!!!!!! TN is a very nice teacher that encourages hard work. He gives Bunus Marks (but you also have to work for it) and is always trying to help his students. He is always making jokes and some times he wonders too much, but it's ok tho. Sometimes, he gives review sessions before the exams to make sure that every one understood the material. TAKE HIM, You will have a very nice experience!
