Not a very good teavher. She dedicates half the class to the percussion section which is only 3 students, and everyone else is left bored. She is very strict about phones. And doesn't want to have them in sight. The class is very boring and I would definitely not recommend this class. I joined hoping I would be in band, but I was in a mixed class with band and beginners band. This really limited me as I am relatively competent at music even prior to this course.
Took band with Ms Freeman all 5 years throughout highschool. She is very average and does not stand out much. She tries to convince students to take other courses and extra curricular activity she teaches. I wish I learned more in her class.
didn't learn shiet in her class
took choir, didn't improve my vocal range or get any better at singing than I already was
music theory was super basic, I think I knew more theory than her
hates phones, heard she's tough for ESL
not that I hate her, just felt like I took a useless class
Honestly, one of the best music teachers I've ever had. She is strict and mean sometimes, only if you don't follow along. If you are an active participating student, she will treat you fairly.
She might seem strict, but her demands are perfectly reasonable as long as you are dedicated enough to band. Once Grade 9 starts, those who are lazy run away and they stop taking band. Those who decide to stay are the true competent musicians who understand the reasoning behind her teaching methods.
In a nutshell, if you make her annoyed, you are not fully committed and band is not suitable for you. Seriously, not talking in class and practicing enough are perfectly reasonable requirements.
shes so strict teacher she always mean to us and sometimes shes nice and shes loves dogs
She told me to quit guitar. If there is a free-market for teacher, she should be fired. She told us that guitar players cannot have long nails and they are prohibited from taking tests. Yet, the most famous finger-style guitarist in the world plays with long fingernails or uses 5 finger-picks.
Neither was she knowledgeable about guitar, she played terribly.
had a brilliant experience in bad, excellent at teaching music, made me enjoy playing clarinet! marks easy too
Gets extremely paranoid during performances, and never teaches anything in the class expecting u to know everything
Worse music teacher I've met. Can't even play the guitar properly and fails students for one mistake. The test is out of 5 marks, you automatically get a 2 if you make one mistake :\
I really love music but she's the reason why I'm not taking ANY music courses at school
She tries to make jokes, that aren't necessarily funny. Because of the low standard of certain students, she tends to lower the level of ALL students.
If you don't listen to the announcments, she makes the WHOLE class stay for recess.
If you like when a teacher just gives you a book and abandons you then go for it. She should not be a teacher!
uses her heart to teach but also loses professionalism when using her heart. Limits chances for overall students
hmm...well...mostly expects a lot from us..even tho sometimes we dunt really noe wht she's talkin abt...
always in a bad mood. except for several days. BIGGG mood swings. but wut do u expect. most teachers are like that. sumtyms is nice.
good teacher... but not teaching~ don't like the part that "kinda force you into other activities that she teaches"
teach? no way, she just make us practice practice and practice. i like her little bonuses tho
she understands people. I found her way of teachin' very helpful and informative; and i am sure it'll be better for music for people who likes the course...
Fun........but make sure you double check your theory sheets!
