I've had him for a few classes and I haven't liked him in any of them. His lessons are unclear and they jump from different topics. He's an extremely hard marker. It seems like he's given up on teaching and he's just shows up so he can get a paycheque.
Mr. Stevens is a great art/history teacher, as long as you are a good student in his class. Takes some sucking up to, but if you do your work and pay attention you will get a good mark. Really likes to wave around meter stick. Great Kung Fu partner.
He was so bad!!
Mr. Stevens can be hit or miss. I had him for several classes during my tenure. Although he clearly cares for his students, tact and an accurate grasp of his students' needs can sometimes elude him. That aside, he is a very knowledgeable teacher who endows his students with a passion for learning. He goes above and beyond to make the learning experience extremely interesting and participatory.
Mr. Stevens was possibly the most important teacher I encountered. If you don't have him for Civics, you're missing out - it's a taste of his World Politics class and I highly recommend you take such a class with him. The Civics curriculum is very dry, but he goes out of his way to really expand on it. His Politics class should be mandatory. His teaching is a major eye-opener for teenage citizens, and his influence has stuck with me for life. Be sure to ask him about Rage Against the Machine.
good knowledge bad teacher
not that good man.................. im gr.8 m8 n i dont understan wut he says man gl techer
Being a CAF veteran, his military knowledge is extremely high, and knows what he's talking about. His poly-sci class is considered to be one of the toughest courses in the whole school, but it's one of the most interesting. If you disagree with something he says, be prepared for a debate. Some consider it to be pro-socialist and anti-capitalist, but it really opens a perspective of the world, with the word "Multi-facited" being key. He's not the easiest teacher, but you can learn a LOT from him.
Mr. Stevens is knowledgeable about the subjects that he teaches and presents the information in a clear and interesting way. Those that complain about him are misguided and close-minded. He is an excellent teacher who sincerely cares for the well-being of his students both in an academic and social context. It is completely false that only "loud mouth students" and students who share his views do well in that class. He is an amazing and undervalued teacher, the best one I ever had.
he talks aloooooot, but its interesting to listen to. if you have an opinion that he doesnt agree with, be prepared to back it up cuz hes gonna come after you
He's a good teacher not a bad guy either. Can be funny I guess. His problem is he is close minded, it's always his way no matter what. He gave me a good mark and liked my writing, but not what I had to say.
Really good at teaching history.. he has favourites and he lets people know
Mr. Stevens really knows his history. He focuses alot on racism, but he's not offensive about it. As long as you participate and do the little bit of homework he gives, you'll do well.
Not good at all. he is not clear and has no notes or anything. I am totally confused and so is he.
He's tough, yes. He's strange, yes. But he knows his subject exceptionally well and he's pretty nice. Contrary to popular belief, you can disagree with him and still do very well.
Definitely in the running for the school's best teacher. Has an amazing depth of knowledge, and tells tales that other teachers would gloss over. Best facial expressions too.
I think that Stevens was an amazing teacher. Anyone who had a problem with him probably just didn't try. He may off his off days but he's entitled to it, hes not the only teacher
You are such a great teacher!!! I loved your class, hopefully i get you next year!! that would just be awesome! You make history soo fun when i expected it to be boring
Mr. Stevens is a funny guy, but unpredictably moody. All in all, though, he's nice and pretty interesting.
Politics Class is anti-american and pro-socialist. Stevens needs to focus on facts not what his opinion is of it.
best teacher ever, I don't care what other people say, he definately knows what hes talking about.
He doesn't know as much as he lets on. He's full of himself!
I do not like Mr.Stevens. He always says that he won't judge you for your own opinions, but he does. And if he doesn't like you, ur in for a rough semester.
Very good history teacher...is a bit weird with the Asian culture thing though..
The guy is pretty good when he needs to be but when he has his off days, I can't wait for the period to end.
The first thing he said to our class at the beggining of our grade 9 year was: "i'm not your friend, and you are definetly not mine" ...need i say more?
mr stevens knows nothing ay. Mr. Stevens is a really smart teacher he is biased thought Socialist all the way but for the most part he is really good
Nice teacher, funny guy, hard marker. I enjoyed my time in his class.
Mr. Stevens is a really nice guy & decent teacher, but man, he is the most biased teacher I've ever had. He just didn't like me. Period.
good teacher..learned a lot and seems to really like what he's doing
Right on man, he's easy but then like U learn zip because he knows nothing.
Excellent teacer and person. Very hard to get above grade level though.
makes class fun, easygoing if he likes you, has good days & bad days
