Professor Manoli is an incredibly smart and interesting old man. Behind his solemn wise man looks hide a funny and quirky individual. Still, there are good class notes, but they might be confusing to some. The exams are not hard in themselves, the tight time constrain is. The man is very determined to help, but his explanations are long-winded and definitely not straight to the point. Prepare at least 15 minutes for any questions. Not recommended for labs, as his expectations are very unclear.

Boy has this man became a legion at the college... People say all sort of stuff about him and here is my experience in class: he is always kind person, except on exams. His goal as a teacher is to teach physics as opposed to make students pass; hence, he expects full comprehension and despises those who only apply formulas without thinking. Choosing to take him or not comes down to this: if you hate physics or want to pass with minimum effort, he is not for you.

No matter what you hear from people about how hard he is, don't listen. If you appreciate proper teaching and learning physics properly, he's the man with the plan. If all you care about is R score, he'll despise you :P best teacher at st. lawrence, period.

Hard, but best courses ever. He is fair in his grading and will try as much as possible to help you if he sees you try to understand.
Taking him again this semester and can't wait for it to begin.

Lol, one could say he looks like Santa. His attitude is nice and all, but not an effective teacher imo. He often derives formulas in class (useless) and usually expects people to understand after 1 explanation. He gives pretty hard problem sets, which sucks when you keep getting tests in other classes and have to spend time on this them. When you ask him a question 1 on 1 however, his explanations go on forever

Manoli is simply a teacher who is trying to prepare us for the higher learning that is yet to come in university by means of this hard course. Great teacher though. Definitely a great experience.

Funny teacher and very helpful! He wants you to understand the material (this is why he gives so many problem sets). Do NOT take him as a lab teacher. You'll never get your lab reports until the end.
