For some, Mr. Cherkas is a great teacher (e.g. if you are an athlete). For those not athletically included (or female), this teacher is biased, sexist, racist and rude. He is fortunate to have a history in professional football - it engages him with the school board as a 'famous' guy but as far as motivating youth or understanding obesity and the need to engage children in the love of movement - he fails. Criticism, sarcasm, shame and ridicule are the teaching strategies. Boooooo - shame RPSB!

He is strict, but pushes you to be much better. You grow from his class with life long lessons, he also goes on and on with rants

This class was HARD. He pushed us harder than I thought I could do, but I grew so much from his class. He was really helpful and if you put effort into his class, you get through relatively scot-free. A very respectable man, teacher, and coach.
