Very strict, yet knowledgeable teacher. He pushes his students, sometimes to tears, but he is a very good teacher. Taught me French better than anyone else in my life.

I used to like him a lot until he one day humiliated me in front of the class for no particular reason. He saw that I wasn't comfortable and he just kept pushing me. Extremely unnecessary and scarring, especially when he facepalms and makes the whole class laugh at you.

Gotta say French has been really cool this year. Learning lots and he's showing us a number of apps to help us out including some useful websites to get more support. He demonstrates so many different ways to review at home. Best part is we can use our own vocabulary to make up our own sentences from the model ones he's shown us in class. Can do a lot more than I did in elementary school. Plus its not so hard to participate once you try volunteering. :)

I wanted to come back here and write another review for Mr. Lavrencic.
I'm going to be honest here, in high school I really detested his class and dreaded going to it and thats no secret. I'm sure he knew it too. He was a crazy intense teacher and got on my nerves a lot, though when I did need extensions on occasion he would grant them.
Now in university I've noticed that his style of teaching has prepared me best for this level of education and I am thankful for being in his class for 3years

He's a good teacher and knows a lot about the subject, however, he can get really intense about participating and sometimes makes rude comments about the students and/or criticizes them. Being an introvert, I didn't enjoy his class very much as the CONSTANT STRESS of being called out for not raising my hand was slightly distracting

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about Mr. Lavrencic. There are some good parts about him, like how he always tries to get u to get outta ur shells, and his study tips are really good. However, he assigns so much homework that u won't have time to do ur homework from other subjects, and he's such a tough marker.

I can say that he's a good teacher. However, he is intimidating and insensitive. He gets angry when students don't ask for help, not realizing this is a problem on HIS part. He has a very condescending and sarcastic attitude to kids who need support.

I don't know why everyone's hating on mr.lavrencic. Like hes a fantastic teacher in my opinion like he makes sure you know your stuff an he really brings you out of your shell. And don't be the shy people. Cuz that's just going to be getting in your way of learning and actually having fun! Yes fun. His class is honestly fun in my opinion. And it was actually easy for me too and I can't imagine havin another French teacher

When I first started at the high school I heard all the awful rumours about M. Lavrencic, and went into class honestly scared. Now...Graduating he is my favourite teacher. Yes he is a hard teacher but he also teaches students how to succeed on their own. He just teaches a language, thereby he's already at a disadvantage. He is an awesome teacher. He truly cares about his students and always finds time for them in his busy day. The students are lucky to have him, people shouldn't be so cruel ????????

Mr. Lavrencic is an exceptional teacher. He cares deeply but simultaneously doesn't put up with stupidity. I also like how he'll use the language as a conduit to discuss other subjects, it lends cultural perspective to the discussion and makes the class interesting. He's also a very classy and respectable person. The class itself is challenging but gives you an understanding of the language equivalent to the French Immersion program if followed up to the 12th grade.

He is tough on the outside and soft on the inside. it may seem harsh that he gives loads of homework and pop quizzes, but it's because he really wants his students to succeed in future years. He may give low marks, but so what? Universities do not care about under grade 11 marks. Besides, knowledge is what people get out of school, not a percentage. Anyways, his lessons are quick and to the point which makes it generally light. Lots of fun activities, but he favors people.

Mr Lavrencic is a good teacher, let me start off with that. He's knowledgeable and truly cares about his students. The problem is, he picks favourites. If you don't get on his good side, you're in trouble. But he's honestly a good guy. In order to succeed in his class you have to place French above all other subjects, which could be a problem. But he has an amazing sense of humor and when you catch him in a good mood, you'll have a great time in his class.
