He may seem easy going, but he is very wise. I personally spoke to him for hours during his office hours, his knowledge and wisdom is outstanding. He may seem to be always late, but that's because he is a very busy man. He is not late because he was lazy, but because he had other things that needed to be done. If you learn to talk to him and approach him, he will not turn you away. He is very kind and he told me that he considers all his students as his own children.

I had him for labs in Chem of Solutions.
Pro. -He kinda knows what he is doing.
-He answers questions.
Con -Not clear at all when he speaks, largely due to his accent and because he speaks very softly and slowly.
-He is extremely picky and VERY specific on how he wants things done, to the point where you start to hate him.
-Does not explain the lab at all
-Half the time, he's not in the lab!

I had him for Chem of Solutions. He is extremely passionate about chemistry. His methods will seem tough at the beginning but will help you for the final. I didn't always understand in class, but I always took notes. To prepare for a test, I read the textbook, did all the suggested problems, reread the notes, and redid the problems done in class. This was enough for amazing grades. I appreciate this teacher because he made studying for the final a complete breeze. I would take him again.

He's really bad at explaining, he gives no notes what so ever and expects you to read the text book to pass the tests and achieve on your own. Even if you do read the text book, the tests are completely different than the questions that the textbook asks so you're not prepared for the test at all. His tests are crazy hard, half of the things that are on it, you've never learned in his class. I don't recommend him, if you have to pick, choose a different teacher; any other one would be better.

His in class tests are almost exact copies of previous final exams so if you study from those you will get close to 100 on every test. If you get on his good side early on and suck up and show up to every class he will give you bonus marks and boost your grade without you having to ask. He always wants his students to succeed and if he sees you're trying he won't let you do poorly. His powerpoints are ok at best and his explanations aren't great but it's really easy to do well with him

His tests are usually picked from previous final exam questions which prepares you well for the final. One thing that he lacks is his ability to understand someone else's reasoning when someone doesn't understand. But definitly a take.

He is a nice person once you get to know him. However, his tests are so easy it doesn't prepare you for the final at all. He is a bad teacher he can't explain anything, I had to read the textbook in order to understand what he was talking about. He was rude the first three classes but then you get used to it, so it's fine. His lectures are useless all he does is copy paste the info from the textbook. Take him if you want easy marks but you're definitely not gonna be ready for the final.

He knows what he wants to say, but he can't explain for the life of him. He has NO IDEA how to manage his time, spending 3 weeks on something that should have taken 3 lectures and being forced to rush the LAST 2 CHAPTERS in the last class. His notes are all over the place and he's condescending. The only good thing about him is that he really wants to help students. If you speak up and say you don't understand, he'll explain it again. Not well, but he tries. He didn't cover all the exam material

He condescends to you when you ask a question. He thinks he's better than everyone just cuz he has a PhD in chemistry. He's rude, arrogant, and his old man macho mentality means that he doesn't understand today's generation and way of thinking. Also, don't swear in his class because he'll go into a lecture on how we're uneducated and listen to too much Pink Floyd (we don't need no education).

Very passionate about chemistry but not a good teacher; very slow and confusing when he teaches. Powerpoints a little all over the place. Confuses you even more when answering your questions. Makes sure every single student "understands" before moving on which gets very annoying, he really cares for students though. Treats you like high school students. Pretty helpful in labs. However, his tests are fairly easy, he grades very easily and you will not be disappointed with your final grade!

Squire takes some getting used to. But once you understand his ways you'll learn a lot and come out with good grades promise.
Ask him to slow, down he will; he values student's opinions on his course. He will always answer questions you have sometimes with overly developped examples and demos. He'll make you ''CLAP FOR YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS'' and develop your patience (constant nagging about technique in labs..) .

Literally the worst teacher ever. He knows a lot but has absolutely no idea how to explain what he knows in terms that students understand. The harder the topic gets, the worse the notes get until they're eventually nothing but examples and no theory at all. You'll think you understand in class, but when you actually have to think about it you'll realize you don't understand at all. Also, he's a total d-bag.

Dr. Squire is very unclear. He gives analogies that don't really make sense and only when I get home and review the textbook 5 times do i understand what he was trying to say. His tests are generally fair. However to do well in them you would have had to teach a lot of things to yourself. However, with all that being said he will let you bargain for marks. He speaks extremely softly, and so if you're not in the first 1 or 2 rows you can't hear a word he's saying.

Took his General Chemistry course and it was ok. He likes to give 'helpful tips' which are really a waste of time and most of the time, half of the students don't understand what he is saying. His tests are truly fair, but he enjoys picking on students during lab hours and 'makes you an example' when you're doing something wrong.
