This teacher definitely knows his stuff and how to teach it. Your notes will be complete and you will be very well prepared for the final. If you can do and understand the suggested problems he gives you, you will find his exams pretty easy. Gives 5 bonus marks on tests. I arrived very well prepared for the final thanks to him. He loves the field he is teaching and it shows. Another bonus is you won't have mastering physics and labs aren't weekly. Strongly recommend him.

Without a doubt the best physics teacher I have ever had. He makes the course interesting and accessible. His class tests are difficult but the final will be very easy. Although his handwriting is a little hard to read, his notes are clear and thorough. Tests and labs are always returned within a reasonable amount of time, which is always nice. Definitely a teacher that I'd recommend!!!!

I guess he's an alright teacher, but his tests are killers (for astrophysics). You need to know everything in and out and be able to explain a lot of theory with diagrams and such. Avoid if you can.

Great teacher. Course should have been hard but he made it crystal clear - This was back in '85. Thanks for your clarity and hard work Mr. S. I felt he got to know me while I was there. Understanding of hard astrophysics was great.

Shoemaker is ultimate. He's so efficient and clear while explaining, that there's always time at the end for him to go into how things work, especially in Astrophysics and Electricity and Magnetism, which he loves. Even if you don't like E+M so much, he makes it clear. His tests are hard and long, but they are fair and challenging.
