Best teacher you could have ever taken! She's extremely knowledgeable, knows very well all of Shakespeare's plays and the reason you love following the course with her it is because she is SIMPLY THE BEST!
Is unfortunate that the rest of the students will not be able to know her or get in a class with her because she has retired, such a great Teacher!

Had her a few years ago for Shakespeare and The West and the World. Shakespeare was awesome, the West was okay. To date, she's my favorite English teacher. Classes were pretty entertaining, and you actually learn. Make no mistake however, you have to work for your mark. You cannot slack off in her classes. Just do your work, pay reasonable attention, and you'll do great. She's always willing to help students as well.

Renee cares greatly about her work, but her patience extends only to those students whose efforts meet her demands. And her demands are within every student's capabilities; it's just a matter of keeping on top of the readings, participating in class discussion, and handing over thoughtful work once due dates role 'round. She's been doing this for a long time--and for good reason. She's good at it! So do yourself a favour: take her, and lean a thing or two.

Interesting course and pretty easy. There is a lot of group work for small marks but it was all done in class, so you get full marks just for participating. Homework was usually just reading, reading quizzes were no big deal. Teacher is enthusiastic and open to students opinions. Great course if your interested in other cultures and how they relate to the West.

her english classes include a lot of readings, many assignments and many quizzes. i usually do well in english, but in her english class i did not. her assignments are all worth 0.8% and there are so many of them! she's available for open hours if you want to know how you can improve on an essay, but you are unable to resubmit. I wouldn't take her again.

Not a course for slackers, but hey its Shakespeare. Renee's explanations are very clear so you get good ideas about the plays, and her dramatic activities were fun to act out. She wants her students to succeed and and gives a lot of help on the essay, just ask her. If you want to learn something in English and have an interesting teacher, take her.

Probably the most work I have ever done for an english class. Course material is quite interesting but she gives too much work, as if it was the only class we had to worry about. But if you're willing to put some effort and learn some Shakespeare, you will do great because luckily, she does care for her students!

I find her ratings are actually better than what they should be. She is rather strict and not that much of an easy marker. I am a good student but expected higher marks. Also, her Shakespeare class gives a large amount of work. You have to read a few scenes for every class and answers questions, or else you lose marks. However, she is interesting and open to ideas. Do not take her if you plan on slacking. If you take her, you are well prepared for the Exit Exam and for other English courses.
