This guy is ridiculous. Took his English in Many Tongues class, he gave a significant number of us 0 on an essay on the basis of suspected cheating, even when kids had quotes backing up their points. Workload's light, but his quizzes have questions on things weren't mentioned in class. Has a very high standard, but is by far the most loaf about deadlines. Some kids handed in the first essay on the last day of class. Only one oral presentation, but he grades it pretty tough. Do not recommend.

This guys is an absolute beast. Hes an athlete, a great one at that. If u need any tips for sports, this man is the guy for you. Not only is he an athlete he is extremely well known for his amazingly well written books, and his talent in music. I would definitely recommend this class, u might get a chance to become a famous musician just like him. What a beast!!! And don't forget to buy his books there great!!

Would definitely not recommend Raymond. He holds the class to an impossible standard (my friend in Journalism in university said his correction criteria didn't even make sense), quizzes were worth 10% each, with only 10 questions, and were based on things he'd maybe mentioned once offhand. Very hard class to do well in, and boring to top it off.

We started at about 40 students, and after the drop.deadline we dropped to 17. Ray seems to be a bad and to avoid teacher but hes really not. Hes a great funny guy and allows rewrites after correcting you and explaining how to improve your paper. Hes an interesting person and you learn a lot from his class. Gonna take him again!

He knows his stuff which is great if you can read mind but OMG dont let explain anything he contradicts what he is saying all the time and never answers questions sometimes he pretends he didn't even hear you. so if you want to take an English and get higher than 65-75 dont take his class and if you do well good luck.

Well, i dropped the class after a class, it was simply not pleasant... Pretty telling about him
The assignment he attempted to explain that class was beyond confusing and I don't think any one actually understood beyond his constant blabbering what he wanted.
BASICALLY, CHANGE TEACHER
or suffer a bit but get on his good side and you will get very good marks...

If you honestly want to fail English and hate your semester take this course. You're sure to have LOTS of assignments, PAGES of readings, re-writes to write, hard headed teacher. Basically you will surely love this class !

He has a very strong opinion on things. He is always open to interpretation (as long as its his own). He does allow re-writes but marks somewhat unfairly. He is not very clear to understand, whenever asked a question about the assignment or the course he either answers with another question or says that he has repeated the answer a handful of times even if he has not. He also does not post any marks, so you can not track your progress in his class. Overall he is not the best teacher.

Honestly, DROP the class. The only positive thing about this course is that the teacher allows rewrites. Otherwise, you would honeslty fail it by no means. Even so, you have to rewrite many times before you get a good mark. This teacher is stubborn, bias, boring, weird, basically I'm trying to make you see that he is not worth your time. He can't explain assignments properly and gets mad when you ask for clarification. If he thinks that your essay is boring, he will fail you. He DOES NOT teach.

This teacher is okay if you take into account all the elements. If you are looking for a class where you don`t have to read a book and where you don`t have a lot of homework then take him. His "English in many tongues" class usually runs like this; go in class, then he always takes attendance but never puts you absent on omnivox. Then you read out loud the text/story you were supposed to read as homework (I never read it) and finally answer a few questions about the text/story and your OUT!

I took his "English in many tongues" course. I would suggest you avoid this. The teacher is full of himself (he refers to his papers as though they were godlike, and promotes his CD), he is very confusing, he does not really teach you anything new, and he is overall quite odd.

I took Jazz Literature and frankly, despite the semester is over, I still have no clue what the course is about. He's very eccentric in his ways of teaching. The "so-called" two hours English class is never respected. Either we watch a movie or either we answer ten questions on the board. That's the class. You are usually out of there in 30 min. His essays are very confusing but you can re write it as much as you want. I started out with 50 and ended up with 90. Loaf class? Take him.

Had him last semester, he teaches a terribly unstimulating course, the only possible reason you could have to take this class is that there are no books to read. He can't explain your mistakes. Avoid as much as you can.
