He is a good teacher, but you need to listen in class if you want to pass! He is sometimes unclear in his explanations. It is always a good idea to go see him on his office hours.
Maybe it's just the subject that's hard, or maybe it's 'cause his notes are lacking when it comes to depth, but I had a hard time with him for mechanics. If you want to have fun in his class, count the number of times he says 'ok'.
I had him for Computer Physics. It's really an easy class because since it's not one of the core classes, he tends to be an easy marker. He wants everyone to pass this class. The tests and quizzes can be a lot harder (like his physics classes haha). Pretty cool for a last semester class, but you won't really learn anything. If you want to learn more about coding, the Computer Mathematics class is a better option, but there are certainly a lot of assignments.
the last guy doesn't make sense, this teacher is very helpful and although the material covered in Physics might make you feel belittled, this teacher makes physics fun and interesting!
doesn't teach well, goes too fast and gives confusing responses to questions making students feel belittled
not a bad person, but a bad teacher for college, he should teach university! he expects u to know EVERYTHING! goes off tangent a lot, not that it's not interesting, just you don't even understand the
practice doing all your high school problems with precision and speed before Mechanics, it is really fast pace, and I'm sure Professor Varfalvy will inspire you to want to learn more. Do not give up,
Alright, let's admit that Professor Varfalvy is a very good person. He always tries his best to help students understand; has office hours in which are extremely helpful when you get stuck on some of
it would be greatly appreciated if he could give us a practice test or at least practice examples and not consistently give excuses for why practice tests can't be given. All neighbouring colleges giv
good teacher so far, only wish he would slow down a bit when teaching, allows questions to be asked and is more than happy to answer them, however the first test was very hard and would be easier if t
computer techniques for solving physics problems is like the worst class i have done. if you are going to engineering you are not going to use this useless stuff like solver or vba. Not a helpful te
Best teacher ever. Explains very well. Knows his subject very well better and have the capacity to explain it to anyone. Very easy marker. If you get him, it's awesome.
computer physics was useless, teach c . and besides very unhelpful teacher went to his office hours and told me I was not paying attention and didnt help me.
likes to scare his students. goes of on tangents a lot. nice but his test r really hard. if u'r brave enough, and not scared to be anoying, to go see him at every opertunity is the only way to pass.
There is no other way to do well in his class but to do the problems and go see him every time you need help. Seems scary at first but really, this guy is SUCH a softie. He goes off on tangents a lot.
I wishh I get him in waves and modern physics, mechanics got so interresing becase of him, great teacher!
So much to say in so little space. I would not recommend him for many reasons. First, he likes to terrify you. That is his teaching method. And it might work for you, but it didn't for me.
Varfalvy seems very intelligent and he expects the very best from his students. But don't worry. Varfalvy is gonna boost the marks, or else more than half the class would fail.
he's the best physics teacher at champlain!! very helpful and organizedd and wants you to succeed!!
He's a very nice guy but he is too difficult as a teacher. He will flat out refuse to answer questions much of the time because you wants you to figure it out.
*Takes out calculator* 2 mmkay plus mmmkayy 2 mmmmkayy equals mmmmkayyy 4 mmmmmkayyyy.... He's so boring..... and constantly goes off topic...
If you don't go see himin his office hours you will not pass the course easily!! He is a very very nice person but he doesn't seem to transmit the info well. good luck with him..
He is a good teacher, and he obviously likes his field. He makes difficult problems seem easy (for him). He's cool.
Favorite phrase: "It's easy!!!" (24 times in one class)
He's tough, let's just leave it at that. But he's also a softie, and will boost most people (otherwise 2/3 of the class would fail).
Those who fail are usually the ones who don't ask questions and go to his office hours. If you do, he'll spend all day helping you understand if need be.
Something must be wrong with him if his test averages are failing. He obviously knows his physics but does not teach it well enough for most students to pass
office hours are KEY to passing this class unless your gifted
He will scare you with at least one impossible test which will have a 40% class average. However very good teacher who will teach you alot
Learning physics is up to you when it comes to this teacher. Don't expect any sympathy or much help.
Nice guy, very smart, but his tests are REALLY hard...
tests are kindof hard, yet a good grade is easy to achieve. Very frienly.
Makes a challenging course, much easier... maybe a bit too easy. Fun teacher. Maybe a bit disorganized with the course sequence, etc...
A1, Friendly, excellent teaching and easy. I got 99 with him!
Hilarious teacher, classes are so fun, always stays to help students
Approachable teacher. Mid-terms are easy, but finals are HARD!!
