This woman loves to pick favourites. Be prepared to not be a favourite, your life will stink... and your grades too. Avoid!
I had an interesting time in her class, I think she's an extremely hard marker. I had her for grade 11/12 and before that i always got high 80's, but in here class i dropped to mid 70's. She gets really cranky sometimes when people don't do their work, and it's kind of scary. She can be really funny at times though, which is her one redeeming factor. I also never get a clear answer from here whenever I ask questions, and her marking makes no sense to me.
Nice teacher. Can be cranky somtimes at students who don't do there work. She likes you more if your a quiet student and respectful
If English is one of your strength and it's something you are passionate about (loves reading novels and writing) then you will excel in her class. On the other hand if English is your second language and it is not something you wish to pursuit in your post-secondary education I certainly would not recommend her as her method of teaching is not suitable for you; specially if you are in grade 12 and applying for university/colleges as your marks matters!
I am a former student of Ms. Brownson (grade 10/11 English) and the following is what I have to say about her:
- Extremely knowledgeable on the subject for which she specializes in (English).
- Makes an effort in making the subject not so boring and more appealing to students.
- Does little or make no effort in helping those students who are struggling and could be very depressing. - Takes no consideration if you get all 90s in all your other classes but 50s or 60s in her class.
She made me love english! I always looked forward to attending this class each morning because of her. She knows how to take a joke and give one. I couldnt have survived the year without her!
Picks FAVOURITES! I mean it, if your not one of them, good luck man!
If you're not a complete chump you will find Brownson one of the best english teachers ever.
She picks favourites and is a strict grader. She will be someone who grows on you, but her class is tough. I had her for three years in a row, and dreaded her class all the time. Her rules are strict, so watch out.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. She convinced me to try and do my best, her wit and great humour are wonderful assets to her amazing character.
She's awesome. She tells the best stories. She's a fair marker and gives you the marks you deserve.
She is very harsh and picks favourites which is tough when you are in grade 12 with her. English is too subjective of a course, and she obviously cannot wrap her mind around that.
great teacher! really gets to the point, and not very much homework and holds good class discussions
She isn't too bad once you get to know her style of teaching and the way she wants you to do things. Just be careful not to get on her bad side. She will make you pay for it.
She goes wack over some thing! She is too fast as ferious:@ she can be one of the funniest, but at the same time the one that is the most hard to understand!
I think she's a good english teacher. She makes english class less boring.
I'm actually getting higher marks in ms.brownson's class than mr.thompsons so are some of my other friends that had mr.thompson and ms.brownson before
ehhh tooo harsh my marks changed a good 20% from last year since i had her
she's a good english teacher, you just have to understand her.
