He really knows his stuff and his lectures are always entertaining. He teaches you WHY things happen so you get a general understanding that can make you solve any problem! Only problem with him is that he takes a while to correct lab reports and he doesnt have a lot of office hours because he teaches few class'. I would take him again if i could :)
Nathaniel Lasry was my teacher for Mechanics during my first semester at John Abbott. His explanations aren't all too clear, but if you're good at physics, you will do just fine. He makes fun demonstrations in front of the class and likes to jump on the desk sometimes. If you are having trouble in Physics though, I do not advise him.
His notes are fantastic, you dont need to take any in class. He is super smart but he isnt very good at conveying his intelligence. If you learn on your own well, youll do fine
He's a smart guy and knows his stuff, but he cannot relay that information to the students. He is extremely lazy and I couldn't find him at all during his office hours throughout the whole semester. He takes forever to correct and missed the grade deadline. He doesn't post your mark online so you don't know how you're doing. He doesn't teach in class, he just gives homework for you to teach yourself and goes over the homework in class. In other words, his classes are useless. Not recommended.
Great guy. Lovable, approachable, funny...but awful teacher. His notes are extremely unclear. He does not prepare you at all for the final. His tests are easy and his classes are a joke. He'll help if you need it, but he's impossible to find. HE IS BEYOND LAZY which reflects back onto the class and makes one of the most important classes in science a total joke.
Smart guy, but he lets you know it... hard guy to find even during his office hours. Don't take him if you have trouble in Physics.
Can't say enough about what a great physics teacher Lasry is! He makes everything (mechanics AND e&m) sound simple. He LOVES what he does and is always there to help. He's an entertainer, but also good at explaining notes.
Nathaniel's notes are very clear and organized, his tests are also rather simple. He really cares about his students and want them to do well. Doesn't prepare you well for finals and doens't give any homework!
I found his classes were fun and interesting. This guy is very dedicated, approachable and gives great notes on the internet. He made me enjoy mechanics. I wish there had been more preparation for the final, though.
very nice person but doesnt teach well..not prepared for the final at all
Nathaniel is great! Nicest teacher ever, very interesting and entertaining classes. He makes the material easy. Always there to help in his office hours. Very dedicated and LOVES what he does! If you can take him, please DO!
Good teacher, good notes! He`s approachable in and out of class and he even responds to emails! If you care enough about physics you`ll do well. Put in effort and understand the theory, you`ll be surprised of the results!
NYB - Really nice guy, but a lil too taken up with the theory and not enough with the examples. Disappears in labs and doesnt answer questions well. Easy tests and assignments/quizzes, but BAD PREP for final. Interesting guy to listen to if u genuinely like physics, but bad if you just wanna pass the course.
GIVES U NOTES THAT ARE CLEAR AND REALLY NICE GUY EZ CLASS EZ QUIZ EZ TEST EZ FINAL EZ EVERYTHING!!!
not enough practice questions, gives you theory and derives the equations, but you don't see how to apply it which makes tests difficult and you don't completely understand. be prepared to do a lot of work on your own. nice guy though.
really nice guy, he uses new methods for teaching. I enjoyed his class, and Im usually really good in physics, but it ended up being my lowest mark. I'm not sure if thats his fault or mine, but I don't feel like he prepared me well for the final.
amazing guy but tends to go on tangents that r interesting but arent really necessary. He tends to spend more time telling us where the equation came from than how to use it. He cares about his students but spends to much time off topic
a bit full of himself. more interested in technology than teaching us physics. good luck finding him during his office hours
He was an amazing teacher for science:history and methodology. really fun classes!
very good teacher, tests aren't too hard, but you need to study. dont study, especially circular motion and you'll fail. but very good set up on in the internet with his notes
Not bad, but not the greatest. His class is easy if you are good with physics to begin with - if you have a hard time with it, take someone else. Notes are confusing.
he's young and he's a very good teacher. he has notes available on the internet ready to print. he makes the class very interesting. he can be tricky with quiz and exams.
Good teacher, do all the problem sets, he makes the subject seem RLY easy but if you don't study : u won't do good on exams. Likes concept questions a lot.
Greatest teacher ever!! Makes you want to learn. Take him if you can.
Awesome teacher, very laid back. Labs are a blast; he loves to joke around and do magic tricks. Posts notes online and gives decent examples. Tests are easy to pass if you study.
excellent teacher very funny he's a good magician great notes esay tests really easy quizzes r ez labs ez . he's a good NYA teacher
Didn't like his class. There was no control and it was impossible to concentrate. Only helped those who were good at the subject. Printable notes. But sometimes unclear.
Mr. Lasry is by far the most helpful teacher I have had this semester. He gives good lectures and his tests are easy ennough. Labs are great with him. He's always willing to help.
Mechanics was a breeze with Nathaniel Lasry. He does fun labs instead of the ones in the book. Tests are easy and he prepares you well for the finals.
All right, this guy is really cool. However, I was dissapointed with the new structure of his classes. It wasn't a tough class but I know this guy could of done
he's ok, i can see what he was trying to do with his teaching, but he could have made it so much simpler. not very organized, and is never in his office.
Warning, has recently changed teaching methods, previous ratings may be innacurate. Very hard to understand and is never in his office when he claims he'll be.
It would help if he would be around more often to answer some questions. This semester has been hard to get help from anyone.
Hes really funny!! very helpful and this semester extremely organized with notes! he cancles classes often,,,the clickers are fun!! he does over complicate stuf
He's a fun teacher but when it comes to teaching.. a little rough around the edges. Fairly easy to understand, do some work, ask questions, you're good to go.
all over the place, makes things more complicated than they are... but nice and he's helpful
Really good teacher. Approachable. down to earth. never gives back work tho so you never know what you get.
REALLY NICE + FUNNY TEACHER! gives good notes + examples! young but teaches well!
Great teacher, easy, simple, does not use the book, and prepares you a lot for final exam!
Fun guy, problems done in class are what he puts on tests.
COOL guy make sure he knows you wanna learn, he will make sure you pass
Lasry is a really nice guy but his teaching methods aren't for all. He doesn't have a structured way of teaching.
This guy is amazing, he is very helpful... Definetely a keeper
