She can give you a zero for an assignment she had not properly explained. While she takes harsh points off for your grammar, she also adds bonuses to her favorites (which, ironically, is something that is impossible in her guideline about giving bonuses). She is the type of "traditional" teacher you would expect (which is somewhat not engaging at all).
Is she a good teacher? If you are her favorites, then you will do extremely well. If you're not, you are kind of screwed.

She's very knowledgable and she sure knows how to promulgate ( hehe WOW ) it. Tests + marking = difficult, but work hard and you'll maintain a good grade in that class.

Overall she is a good teacher. Yes her marking system is hard, especially in writing, but she can really improve your English skills. She does not waste any minute in her class which is really great. She does not like students who has poor English skills, that's true, but it is your responsibility to be good at English, not her fault.

Mrs.Clay-Smith is a nice person in general, but the way she marks is quite hard and strict. However, that is a good thing because it prepares you for exams and the provincials. Students will look at her like an awful teacher, but everyone have two sides. (:

Oh no! She makes you (gasp) use a dictionary and learn how to become an independent learner?! That horrible teacher! And she tells people that other interpretations aren't correct?! Guess what? There are wrong answers. It's good you're learning that now. She's a great teacher.

She teaches nicely, but her marking system is very flawed and she did not give me any help but tell me to get the dictionary. Most of her students are failing her classes because its so hard.

She's awesome. I've learned so much from her because I figured out that it's better to ignore my more immature peers in the class. Some day they may grow up. Some day . . .

She's not as mean as she is portrayed to be, but she certainly neglects students with poor English skills; exams focus on irrelevant details and she has no appreciation for other interpretations.
