well shes really hard, and she expects you to know everything. she does way too many lessons in one class, and we cant absorb everything. and shes always smiling. creeeeepy.
Café des Rêves... lol... I actually learned a lot with her.
hell, if she likes you, and you actually know the language, then you're good. tons of quizzes, and makes you come in the morning FOR EVERYTHING. sorry i like sleeping. ;l
umm.. mcdowell's pretty nice. u learn alot and everything. but yea she doesnt speak so loud and is unfair to immersions. get used to it. she's an awesome teacher
I'm failing, but I think she is a great teacher. she will always give you a chance to succeed. But she's harsh passive-aggressive.
She certainly knows what she's doing, but she moves through units very quickly. She speaks very quickly and quietly. Sits you in the dreaded alphabetical order. Beware of her challenge classes.
On my 2nd degree at UBC. Til this day she's the BEST French teacher I've ever had. I learned more French in her classes than all my other French education combined.
So hard! Shes pretty nice though. She really keeps you organized. Gives lots of homework though, but shes cool.
Even after completing highschool and obtaining a university degree, she is still the worst teacher I have ever had. Beware the unemotional wrath of McDowell.
She teaches you everything you need to know, and she really cares. If you're in Fr Immersion though, she will not give you equal opportunity because she knows that you know it.
it wasn't until i had another french teacher this year that i realized how well mcdowell taught. sure, she favours certain ppl, but at least we were learning
well.. my advice if you get stuck with her is to try to get switched into smuone else french class.. mcdowells class is not a fun place to be, not only because its french...
shes the worst teacher in the world , she kicks people out for no reason at all. It was so depressing being in that class.she shouldn't be teaching at all.
she was the worst teacher ive ever had. it was so depressing to be in that class
Very nice, a great person, a great teacher, she loves teaching and is very enthousiastic, which I love. I wish I had her again this year. She is hard, but you do learn a lot.
agree she goes fast but she'll help you if you need it. you learn a lot, but that's because you have to. she doesn't waste time. c'est domage!
Good teacher, but moves reli fast in class, which can be confusing, but shes always there to help when something isn't understood, participate a lot!
ALWAYS over plan the classes. a minute till the bell and she'll begin another lesson. why? because 'a minute left is still a minute left to learn in class'
easy class if you learn your stuff. Best French teacher I've ever had
She's cool, but you got to concentrate hard in her class.
She's a very hardworking and responsible teacher...definitely one of the best teachers in the school.
Best teacher ever, super nice, super great teacher learned so much this year.
GRAD 99... I still remember her kicking me out of class for no reason. After that, I stopped believing in justice...
She expects a little too much, and she thinks she's the best French teacher ever. Not that I'm saying she's not a good teacher, but she's a little too much.
I liked Frech before I got Mme. Mcdowell and realized I knew nothing. And you know how you get when you feel like you know nothing.
I get frusterated sometimes with her because I feel like I don't understand and she expects a LOT from us but I guess she's supposed to because we're challenge.
OMG!!! she doesn't let you talk @ all in her classes!! hopefully u don't get her .. ya u learn sum stuff.. but other then thats it horrible!!i now hate it!
Best french teacher in the school. You learn a lot of French but she's really nice if you're a good student.
strict/no fun/if you pass you KNOW you learned a lot
tough lady. she knows her stuff, but no sense of humor.
