Awesome teacher!!! Made high school so less painful...had other disappointing teachers like mccabe, creelman and hurst and the like but he definitely brought the teaching role back to 11/10 standards. Thanks Mr. Meng

Can be really condescending and judgmental in a subtle way. I remember in grade 10 he put up a history document on the board and pointed out, "you guys might not understand words such as Intellectuals". Don't be surprised if he tries to undermine your intellectual fortitude. Even if you work hard in his class, he might think you're lazy. He also has an obvious preference for some students. On the other hand, he knows his material but can take 10 min to say something that could be said in 3m.

Had him in Grade 9 English and all he would talk about was History. Had him for Grade 12 history, not disappointed. Knows the most about history (and German) in the school, a must-take course.

I'd say Menge is pretty good. He knows a hell of a lot about history, and can help you when you need it. Sometimes he takes forever to mark because of the "busy soccer season", but thats all good. He is very German, and will sometimes speak it for fun. He has a strong desire to use the phrase "oh so" when describing things for some reason. Overall hes a great teacher, if you want to learn about history he definitely dumps on the alternative(mccabe), and I would wholeheartedly recommend his class

Mr Meng was my favourite teacher at Lisgar. He taught me grade 10 and 11 History as well as Philosophy and AP European History. While his classes can be difficult, he's an excellent teacher and is always available to help if you just ask. He's inspired me to study history in university and I'm so thankful that I had him. I know he's not everybody's favourite, but I loved him. He is so knowledgeable about the topics he teaches, and teaches using a variety of methods.

He is my favorite teacher so far! He is extremely helpful in every situation. He is very kind and funny. He makes history fun, he keeps his explanations to the point, but really explains fully so the students understand. He is very flexible with time and handing in assignments as he understands if a student was not able to complete homework. He really looks out for his students, and he is just so funny and really brings history to life. One of the best teachers I have ever had!

Mr Meng is an amazing teacher and I particularly enjoyed his grade 11 and 12 history courses. Needless to say, with a solid knowledge foundation in history, a rigorous curriculum, and high expectations for students, Mr Meng is definitely one of the most difficult teachers at Lisgar. However, as one of his students, I fine myself to be spending more time on history than any other course and in the process, I have expanded my horizons and understanding of humanity.

Good teacher.. Do his assignments well and in the way that he wants them and you'll get a good mark. Pretty lax with discipline, not overly but just enough so that you don't feel smothered like with some teachers.

His AP class, above all other courses, prepared me for university. The massive workload, the unending readings and quizzes worth virtually nothing each (yet somehow adding up to half your mark), and t

Mr. Meng is awesome. He just makes you work for your mark - if you're willing to work, and/or you like/are good at history, then you do well.

Mr. Meng is an intelligent historian whose teaching style I have greatly benefitted from. Just the way he speaks brings an understanding to my mind that no other teacher can do.

Very weird. Plays favourites obviously. Not flexible at all with correcting his mistakes: will give you back something with a lower mark b/c he was more "thorough". Focuses a lot on minute details.

He certainly beats out the alternative (McCabe). As far as his class goes, I've only had him for one course (AP History), and he seems goodabout being wrong. He knows enough to really enrich the class

He's a great teacher. And it's not because he's easy or too hard, it's mainly because of his enthusiasm. He doesn't pick favourites (I discredit what others have said), and he plays up his classes.

Mr. Meng is a good teacher, no doubts about that. He enjoys what he's doing, is personable and is understanding of circumstances. Definetly one of Lisgar's good ones.
