Easiness/Helpfulness/Clarity/Popularity really don't describe Mr. Gillan. He brought a way of experiencing Shakespeare in a way that no other teacher did prior to after him. It was his way of teaching

wonderful teacher...21 years later and still remember that fantastitic poetry project in grade 11...one of the few teachers back then that considered some song lyrics to be poetry
