She is a nice teacher sometimes but she can change really quick
Despite Ms. Le Gresley's vast knowledge on her subject area, she lags behind in technology, and the textbooks are outdated (from the late 1990s). She creates a somewhat unconfortable feeling in the students, they are not allowed to talk during most of the in-class assignments and water is forbidden during tests. There are unnecessary and absurd rules that you wouldn't expect in a classroom. Trust and understanding between the teacher and the students is what her class lacks the most.
a great way to actually LEARN social studies
Strict yet knowledgeable
This s a teacher that has some strict rules, they're really not that strict. Rule one is no electronic(she'll ask you to turn it off but you can leave it silent),But please DON'T use it during class(I mean seriously why people can't survive through one class without using electronic). Rule two is no POP in class and no Water(yeh, pure H2O) during any test(Even she drink POP in class) This is a teacher really knowledgeable in Geography but not in Social Study(She likes her story more than history
Ms. Le Gresly is by far the most agonizing SS teacher I've ever had. Before starting her class she makes you fill in a form with your email, phone number, address, parents contacts, medical card number, locker, and all he courses you're taking. You feel more like a suspect than a student. She's always late to class, but keeps everyone in after class, and if you're late for one millisecond she will lock the door and give you detention. She spends 20% on socials, and 80% on her life story. :(
She just can't teach. Her unnecessary rules make you feel like you're in prison. She has a stupid ideology that everyone learns the same way by writing the same text over and over. She shows videos in class that are "important" yet doesn't let us take notes. Actually, we aren't allowed to take any notes, period. She talks about the amazing nice things she's done more than the class. If we had an exam on her life, we'd be able to ace it. I don't know how she ever got around to being a teacher.
She knowledgable but is not helpful, will blame you for her mistakes, and will pause class to tell you how what you're learning relates to her and her life. Assigns an unreasonable amount of homework. She is inconsiderate as she assigns so much homework as if you are her only class. She's often is late to class and she doesn't give you enough time for tests. If I would have know what kind of nightmare she would have been, I would have done everything in my power to switch out.
Strict but knowledgeable
During my time in her class it was really boring. Her classes consisted of 50% lecturing on textbook notes, 25% talking about fruits and vegetables and how you should always wash them or you'll die, 20% handing out way too much homework that takes hours to finish, and 5% class work time. she is really strict and the person beside me keeps getting in trouble for slouching, sleeping, or playing with her hair.
Honestly, the only people who do badly in her class are the ones who don't do their work and the ones who will bicker with her. She's a teacher who teaches all the stuff you need to know, she's clear, and she's passionate about SS. Yes, she has rules and she's anal about a lot of things but get used to it. Life isn't perfect and the sooner you learn how to deal with all kinds of people the better. I had a great experience with her and I'd do it again. She's all kinds of cool if she likes you.
Has a lot of unnecessary rules in her classroom. Her workload is completely on another level where 3 hours a day is something common. Lots of stress and cramming. She will embarrass you in front of the whole class just for doing something little like slouching or leaning on your arm when watching a 2 hour documentary. Boring and not a class you want to be in. She shuts the door and windows so you're pretty much crammed in a classroom with 30 other people breathing the same air for 3 hours.
Mixed feelings, she is very well at making you remember things and getting information drilled into your head however, some rules in her classroom are unnecessary. She makes the big deals out of little things such as leaning on your arm during a documentary, leaning back on your chair, or having your pocket zipper unzipped during a test. All in all, good teach for learning, not so good of a teacher when it comes to classroom rule.
She is a wonderful teacher who has a great passion for what she does and everything she does if for the better of her students. She's a great teacher, prepares you well and as long as you do the homework and study you'll get a great mark.
Good thing her classroom is on the 2nd floor
her rules are so pointless i feel like im in jail sometimes
Really good teacher and very knowledgeable. Comes off very tough but has a very friendly and helpful side. As long as you follow her rules for the one hour of class, you'll be golden
Not sure why is she even allowed to teach. Oh, you're slouching when watching a 2-hour docu.mentary? yells at you in front of the room, pulls you out despite saying nothing back, then pull you out again after again trying to educate you about "attitude".
She has a passion for what she does. I love her as a teacher all you need to do is respect her rules and actually put in an effort and you will get a great mark I had her for socials 11 and got 90% on the provincial and I have her for geography 12 now. She knows absolutely everything she needs for the course and I would highly recommend her for socials eleven. She goes over the material so thoroughly you're guaranteed a great mark. If you work hard of course.
Well i have to admit she is nice overall after you get to know her better, but she literally never teaches, she gives us videos and worksheets that i think i can done it at home all by myself.
I had Ms. LeGresley for both Socials and Geography. I found she knows a lot about her subject and can prepare you well for provincials. Can be a bit sensitive though, and sometimes unfairly strict.
Shes absolutely brutal...she gives out 14 page booklets that are due the next day and expects you to lay down your social life for the sake of her class. Hands down worst teacher in the entire school!
She's very controlling and gets really defensive when you point things out. Le Gresley tries her hardest to get the class to like her but it didn't work out. She can drill info into your head well.
She knows her stuff, yes- and it's easy to see that she's trying to be nice...but she can be too sensitive at times and become too strict with her students.
the worst socials teacher you could ever get. she ruined my socials and work experience mark and because of her I'm ending up on second class when I've always been on first class.
I think Ms. Le Gresley is a great teacher. She helped me all throughout my class with her, and she puts soo much into teaching all of us. I learned a lot from her class, and would like to say thanks
i'm scared to talk during her class, but seriously i remember almost everything from social studies 11, so shes a really good teacher.
this woman by far is the worst teacher in our school. i had her 4 geo12 we finally finsished on the last day of school with no reveiw and our class av. on the prov. was only 75% she cant teach at all
SHE KICKED ME OUT OF THE CLASS FOR LOOKING TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM!!! LITERALLY! i'm not a bad student either.at the time i was brainstorming about the work I was doing. but the hall is better.
I hate her. We never do a thing in her class. She talks way too much.
She's so clear that even a baby can understand her instructions. Yes, she's strict, and that's great. I believe teens need discipline.
Waaay too much talking...says she'll give us time to do work but just keeps yappin....wow and lots of pepsi cans!
i heard someoen jumped out teh window of her class becuase she was so awful. i wouldnt doubt it. shes always on a power trip...
Darnit failed me on georgraphy becuase she accused me of cheating becuase i looked at my planner grrr
