She was a great arts teacher but had no discipline and was too nice... When we learned pottery half the class made either a pipe or a chillum as their project! However, those pipes were flawlessly made. By allowing us to do what we wanted she kept us interested, so we learned to knead the clay to remove air bubbles which tend to expand during the cooking of the clay and cause cracks or even break the object. I learned a lot with Lydia.
