disciplined, inspirational and a teacher in the best sense of the word. A man with passion for his craft who inspires one to care about what one was doing, both in music and in life. Impossible to find someone who card about everything as he did. Make sure to always go to class if you sign up for his session though - he does not take any BS for people skipping class

Unquestionably one of the most committed eduactors I have had the pleasure of working with. He pushes his students and pushes them hard. Those who thrive on being given the opportunity to become their best love and respect him. He is retiring this coming year and music education in Vancouver, in BC, in Canada will sorely miss him. I rate his 'easiiness' as a 1 because HE MAKES YOU WORK!!! And I thank him for that.

I am from a choir that John works with in Saskatchewan (wahooo SCCHS!!) John is the most inspirational and wonderful man and choral director I have ever had the opportunity to meet or work with. Everything he does inspires you to do better. Whether it be his passion for his students, or his desire to share music with the world, John is a man that has touched multitudes of hearts, all over the world.

He's not easy, but the work isn't easy to begin with. He's as helpful and clear as you let him be. Best of all, his humility is so inspiring, given his clear expertise with his craft.
There's really nothing I can say that others haven't said. I'm just glad I had a chance to work with him.

An utterly incredible teacher. He can come to a group across the country, treat them as his own students, and connect, and teach infinite improvement in minimal time.
