He is an amazing teacher. Don't expect 90s, but everything you learn from him will make up for your possibly disappointing mark. He taught me to love grammar and his jokes are amazing.
(go space monkeys!)
cook is absolutely wonderful. he taught me to adore grammar. he's crazy smart, really funny, and very good at his job. marks are really hard, but he's totally open to helping people who are having trouble. also very unbiased. he creates an environment in which you are encouraged to do some serious good quality work, and idk bout yall but I think that's pretty darn special. <333
He is a hard marker but you learn a lot from him. Overall, he's a great teacher.
Mr. Cook is a hard marker. But, if you really work on the areas he points out when you ask him to look over your work, there's a huge improvement in your writing skills. I learned A LOT from him, even if my marks weren't as good as I'd have liked. He makes his classes extremely interesting, though he does have definite favorites. That's not to say he doesn't give other students chances to speak, just that he may be more inclined towards his favorites. Overall, an amazing teacher.
He plays favourites and makes it evident when you're his favourite. He marks fairly, but gives extra attention to students he likes(he'll prob edit their essay more than yours). You probably already know that he marks hard and does not just give out 90s. You learn a lot in his class but it is a hell of a lot of work.
You learn a lot in his class but it is almost impossible to get a 90 in his class
Great teacher, teaches you a lot, but will murder your marks.
Awesome prof, English is hard but that is not his fault. I can confidently say I enjoyed and learned a lot in his class.
Only need one word for Mr. Cook condescending.
The best teacher ever. Not only is he super funny and nice, he's a good teacher and he genuinely cares about whether you understand the course or not. He's a tough marker, but I've never had a better teacher
He's amazing. One of the best ever. While you can't expect a 90, you'll learn more in his english class then you'll learn in the other 3 classes of your semester. He's just awesome.
he's the hardest english teacher you'll probably get, but he's also the most funny one (if you like bad puns :P) and he really teaches you a lot of grammar and gets you prepared. also if you have questions you can ask and he'll usually answer.
It was awesome to be in Mr. Cook's class as a first year. His puns are horrible, but Thursday food days from the newspaper makes up for it!
Mr. Cook is probably one of the best teachers I've had in a long time. He's willing to take the time to make sure you understand his class. He's a hard marker though, and if you don't try, you won't pass. If you don't understand something, ask him!
he marks hard and doesn't teach enough before a test. princess bride sucks
Definitely one of my favorite teachers ever. He made grammar one of the best parts of my life and made class fun by talking about food. I didn't know anything going into English this year, but he was a really helpful teacher and I learned so much.Going to English class, and visiting my friends in English was one of the highlights of school. ?? ???????????????????
Hes an awesome teacher one of my favorites except hes hands down the hardest teacher ive ever had. But hes an awesome guy.
I was an exchange student from Europe at Bell a couple of years ago and his Englisch class improved my English skills so much that I was able to finish my AP-English course back home with 100% (my Eng
This teacher is amazing. He is always entertaining and funny. Although many students complain that he marks hard, Mr. Cook is always willing to make time and try to help anyone improve their English.
Hilariously good english teacher (although he would say that that doesn't make sense), and an AMAZING volleyball coach!
Mr.Cook is an amazing english teacher at Bell. His marking is a lot more stern than others, but he's honest and willing to help you at all times. He also loves volleyball and making his students laugh
Yes, Mr. Cook is a hard marker but honestly, he's the best teacher I've ever had and I wish I had him this year. If you take the iniative to ask for help, he will! And he's like the wittiest man alive
i initially really enjoyed mr. cooks class but the projects he assigns are almost ALL essays and he has much higher standards than anyone estimate your mark - 5-10% and thats probably your mark
Mr.Cook is a really good guy. He has very corny jokes. Very hard marker indeed or just very high standards. No matter how hard and put effort, I try on essays and assignments and getting all the help I can, my mark always ranges from 70-80.Overall great at teaching. You really have to pay attention and listen.
Good character, but very difficult to earn good grades! If you aren't a hard-worker or very organized, don't expect to get a decent mark.
I am glad I had Mr.Cook as my first highschool english teacher. I do admit, he is a hard marker, but is fair and is always willing to help you! Funny guy too!
Mr. Cook is the best English teacher that I've ever had. He is always amusing and he can be strange, but he'll teach you so much. He has high standards but marks fairly and is always willing to help.
One of the greatest teachers you will ever meet. He's definetly a hard marker, but always helpful, and super funny. He does give a large amount of homework, but Mr.Cook is definetly one of the BEST!
I think he is one of the coolest teachers EVER!! So what if he has some imaginary characters(Biff&Walter). He's ALWAYS willing to help you and he has such corny jokes, but is the funniest! I love Mr.C
I have so much respect for Mr. Cook! I learned so much in his class and had a fun time too...I HOPE THIS DOESN'T HAVE ANY MISPLACED MODIFIERS lol.
Really good teacher. He is my favorite. He is very informative and gets straight to the point. Pretty funny too.
I always look forward to going to his English class! He's toooo funny. Just not very easy to get outstanding marks.
he is funny and will teach you A LOT !!! He is a very harsh marker. Marks too harsh. ALWAYS ask him questions and he will help you.
he's what many teachers are missing - funny, sticks to the point, explains things well. He's also encouraging and gives good ideas.Shouldn't make us read Animal Farm tho...
great if you're planning to take english in university, but if not I'm not sure it's worth it...
Hardest marker. But you learn a lot from him. And I mean A LOT. We were doing like Grade 10 stuff during the beginning of Grade 9-- 50% First Essay, but I think he's still AMAZING!
Hard marker but thats what makes him a great teacher... that and his enthuiasm (which is apparently just for show).
Mr Cook is super helpful. The most productive (and fun!) English classes ever!
He's definetly a hard marker, everyone thinks that but despite that you learn so much from him so it pays off in the end.
Mr Cook was a hard marker, but you learn SO much in his class. I had him for two years of English, and I still remember (and use!) many of the things he taught.
i don't understand why people hate him so much. He's fair in his marking because he actually gives people what they deserve. I thought he was a great teacher.
Mr.Cook Is Kool I Have Him As A Home Room Teacher This Year And So Far He Rock's :P
Hard marker but fair, Very intelligent and his classes are very stimulating. Can be a little vague but he will always try to help. Too much of a Leafs Fan!
I miss Mr.Cook and Bell High. To me, he was the best history teacher!! Wish his luck~~!
I dont understand why everyone thinks hes so hard and unfair...when i had him i got an 85 and trust me, i didnt have to do that much..i thought he was funny!
Best English teacher I ever had. Intelligent and very good at teaching students... but he's also one of the toughest markers I've ever had.
Argh, regardles of how well I thought I did on an essay, I would always get 67%.
THe hardest English teacher I ever had. Seems to tale pleasure in awarding low marks. I feel sorry for any and every student that has him.
