If youre a student who struggles with issues outside of school Mrs Anas will undoubtedly become one of your favourite teachers on her personality alone. The fact that she tries her hardest to help students is just an added plus. As long as you put it a little work youll finish with a good mark, understanding concepts, but most importantly it will be one of your few fun math classes in high school. And the chronic late people out there will love her even more :)
Ms.Anas is an amazing person, shes really nice and really knows her stuff. she cares about the students who might get left behind and really puts an effort in to help them. There are times where Ms.Anas can be off topic and get carried away on a TANGent but she tries her best. Ms.Anas isnt able to really communicate the best when it comes to explaining and has even left me feeling more lost than before I asked, so make sure your questions are very direct.
I liked her but she can be very confusing sometimes.
Really nice and a great person! Teaching wise, however, has much to be desired.
She is a nice and approachable teacher. She is really easy on students and is patient. The only criticism I have is that she made the exam quite challenging compared to how easy going the course was. I already learnt the whole course (for the most part) in my previous private school so I didn't have any exceptional difficulty
I loved having Ms. Anas as a teacher, she's much easier to learn from than another teacher all of my friends had.
Super awesome person. She is extremely funny and makes class enjoyable. She somehow went to Waterloo, so on paper she is super smart. Not the best teacher because she goes off on her little adventures, but if you talk to her 1 on 1, she will teach you what you need to know. Just remember, she takes stuff super loosely, so if you have Tang next... G_G
Ms. Anas is the best teacher I have ever had! She is always there when you need her and she's always happy to help. If you have her as your teacher, you are super lucky!
Ms. Anas is an amazing teacher. I started looking forward to math class because I wasn't afraid I'd get told off for little things. Ms. Anas makes you feel comfortable and like the classroom is a safe place. We did stray off topic sometimes but we always made up for it in a way that is easy to learn. Her schedule of have a lesson and learn then do as much homework as you can works for students because she realises we have lives outside of school and other classes to do work from. 4++
Very nice teacher
K hands down Ms Anas is the best teacher ever!!! She should seriously consider being a guidance counselor or something cuz she really cares about her students and wants to help you succeed. By the end of the semester you will actually like math. Throughout the year we got off topic a lot but we somehow seemed to finish everything and we actually learned stuff. She can be really weird but really relates to you and makes you feel at home in her classroom!
She 's an alright teacher. A good friend like character. Her only weak point is the way she teaches. It's clear she tries her best. But she still lacks the ability to fully explain some material. If you ever get her. I don't recommend switching, just ask her to rexplain after class or math help. Then again. It's my oppinion. Overall, good teacher.
Ms Anas is sooooo chill.
My. God. This woman is SO nice and you can tell she works hard and cares so much for the well being of her student but she cannot teach AT ALL. They should have a more competent teacher for AP stats. Don't take the class, you'll probably fail.
She isn't very good at explaining but she is super nice.
Miss Anas is a wonderful sucess teacher she's there when you need her. and somehow she can relate to everything. She makes me feel like i belong, she is a great Friend.I love her dearly I respect her.
BEST CR Councellor Ever.. she can bring u back from missing loads of credits
I think she was the best teacher I ever had in high school. If it was not for her, I would have had a harder time through high school. She cares about everyone and she is all around the best teacher
Probably one of the best teachers at Lisgar because she generally cares about her students. Always willing to help. Treats her students like her friends. Sacrifices her time to help. Teaches students to love themselves.
I love her. Not only was she one of the best teachers I've ever had, she's a great friend. She's so patient and calm, she's always willing to help out, and she will always make sure that everything is going well.
At the start ofthe year she asked who hated math, and i put my hand up. by the end of the year, I actually liked it. And i even got an A on a test (I was barely passing math right throughout lisgar)
so helpful and will go out of her way for you all the time and this women barely has anytime so it says alot. Best "guidance conselor" ever!
Love this woman. So open and inviting to any ideas, will give up all her time just to help or talk or whatever. She should be a guidance counsellor since she is 1000000x more helpful and competent than any of them.
For all the people who think Joanne Anas cannot teach, i strongly suggest re-examining the facts. If you have done well over the years with the prehistoric teaching methods still used in most classrooms, you may not necessarily find her methods as clear-cut. However, if you are like the other 65% of us, and have found these methods outdated and frustrating (lessons based around particular learning styles), Joanne Anas will offer you a chance to focus, work hard, and for once actually learn something.
Mrs. Anas, you know you're the best coop teacher ever. Anybody who says they dislike you is obviously hating you cause you gave them a low mark, which they most likely deserved.
Ms.Anas, there are some kids at lisgar that really need you..there are some in serisou trouble too, so dont overlook minor situations..please..
Phenomenal-- understands students and will bend over backwards to help. Extremely supportive, wonderful woman.
this teacher is lacking in intelligence, teaching ability, and organization.
if you dont do some home work she'll start saying things like your pulling a Charles and that hurts beacsue ive started doing my work and its easy unlike inpast
This teacher has no business teaching anything related to math and I pinpoint her class as the beginning of my downwards slide in math classes :/
Cool teacher.. not very good at explaining though.. i thought iwas good at math???
Cares about her students, albeit moreso than is comfortable. Plays the teacher-student power relationship a little too strongly.
She is so nice, and always ready to give extra help. She cares about students. If you learn from discussion and less structured methods she is amazing.
Kewl teacher. Very nice. Hard tests. Calls your parents if you skip w/out reason. Her gr10 math was all greek to me, while I had much eZier time in OA finite.
she is the worst teacher i've ever had. she is not a nice person. she is lazy, stupid, and moronic. flirting with students was more important than teaching.
PHONES STILL EXIST - BISHOP misses you. Come on home. aj
she comes off as being understanding and helpful- she's anything but! she's exteremely lazy.
great person... but hasn't taught us anything in a month and a half... what's with the printouts?!
Lisgar's finest teachr, she cares about her students
only good thing about math this year is that the school boiler blew up and postponed the test.
Kind, but not so bright. She can't teach beyond regurgitating the textbook
She is the best teacher ever, cares about her students
Wonderful person, wonderful teacher- couldnt get better.
sweet person, but awful teacher... her students have to teach each other a lot
Yeah, Ok, She's nice and all, but HELLO learn how to teach.
GREAT person...teaching skills definitely questionnable!
Nice person, bad teacher. She's just never sure of herself and material
A great teacher! Actually cares about her students, and is very fair in testing
extremely confusing, not extremely talented in her field
