She seems like a nice person, but I have no idea what she was trying to accomplish as a philosophy teacher. She was absent all the time and never talked about the subject material. All she did was talk about seventies icons which, while they are great and deserve to be known, had nothing to do with the course. She's very narrow-minded and doesn't like when her students stray too far from her opinion. Overall she seems like a fun, nice person but I wouldn't take her as a philosophy teacher.
Had her for my first ever philosophy course and she was hilarious. Her love for the Beach Boys (and Robert Plant's gorgeous hair) were amazingly endearing. An out-of-this-world personality but a very kind soul. It's hard to be bored in her class.
She is a kind, dynamic person, but she is extremely narrow minded so her classes are very one-sided. She also skips from thought to thought. But she's a great person overall. I just don't see why she chose philosophy considering she only has one view on the world and shoots anyone else's views down to the ground . She will, however, definitely push students to defend their view points.
She is a great teacher, very dynamic and she always finds ways to keep the students interested. She is very different from most teacher I've had in my life (in a good way).
You will NEVER forget her classes! They were incredible! I LOVED her and I recommend her to anyone! She really knows her material, makes the class interesting, and she is a wonderful person!
She is, in a sense...a teacher. Not quite the greatest but I have to say that she is quite fun even though her class is weird...
I LOVE HER. She is simply the best at st-lawrence. Makes are classes interesting and we were able to grasp many concepts of worldviews. She is very funny and well organised. She is fair and always available at her office or by mio.
Excellent: interesting, organized, fair. I felt I was beginning to understand Philosophy and be able to apply it in other axademic areas. I hope that she will be there in my second year of CEGEP too
Every class was interesting and constructive. She has a passion about what she teaches and that gives students motivation. She is also very funny. I wish every philosophy teacher was like her.
Amazingly smart. You can truly get a lot from her class, especially ethics, if you take the time to THINK about what she is saying. Devotes a lot of time to her students and cares about their success.
she will always help you even by email and during the weekend. I relaly like her.
too subjective. she gives good grades to the students she likes
Very intelligent teacher who gives a small work load. She's a little off her rocker, but it makes her class interesting and fun. Absent all the time.
This is one cool smart woman. I LOVE her! And she is always singing to us. Brian Wilson rocks!
I love her so much, her courses are always funny even if she says that we should not have fun at school. She is a special, happy and funny teacher.
Joan Lugtig....really inspires her students acheive academically and really does treat us as equals. Her seminars are extremely educational and REALLY FUN!!
She treats us like real people. An inspirant and fair teacher and you will learn lots about lots of stuff.
This is a strange women, very helpfull, but seems to think sometimes that we are still in the kindergarten
