I struggled a lot in her class, she could certainly improve on clarity of instructions and structuring assignments better so students aren't overhwlemed with assignments. I did enjoy having her as my teacher however, and think her class benefitted me greatly.
Mrs. McConkey was my Grade 9 English teacher, and she wasn't bad at all! Sometimes she wasn't hard enough on some of the students who only caused trouble, so our class was kind of hectic, but she was still fun to work with.
I'm grateful for all of brilliant English teachers at Central. Mrs. McConkey is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and made sure every minute of her class was interesting by mediating interesting discussions that would develop in class.
I was in her English Media/Media Studies class last semester. It was incredible. Everytime I did something out of hand, she would ALWAYS somehow catch me where any other teacher wouldn't. I just didn't get it. But she just told me to stop, didn't get mad or anything. In fact, she usually made it even more funny. She even played Guitar Hero with us on her oversized overhead screen at the end of the semester. Probably the most fun I have ever had in a formal-type class (As in not gymor anything li
I adore her. Very fun, very helpful. Good ideas for projects. Not focused on little detail things, she's a big picture person. Likes creativity. I was in enriched with her and I found it moved at a good pace. Very relaxed person, allows a lot of discussion in class which can help you to understand things. Always there for help if you need it. Always willing to make concessions if you don't have things finished on time. I found we got a bit rushed coming up to exams.
YEAH J-CONK. She's awesome because she cares and is interested. It makes a HUGE difference when your teacher actually LIKES their subject.
i love mrs mcconkey i think shes such i nie women and a gernerally supportive teacher. She is definatly my favorite teacher
I don't know about Mrs. McConkey yet. I love discussions, but it seems like she wants to initiate too many- not like Stotts, who just kind of went with the flow. Seems good though.
Take the creative writing with her...She'll point you in the right direction...Help you see things from all sides...Writer and reader...
Remember the Christina Agularia dance last year in class? Good times, good times...
