Took him for Cal 3, a great class that felt more like learning for fun rather than a chore. To ace his course you gotta pay attention during lectures (he goes real fast) and do the assigned work. He's an excellent prof, truly one of the best at Vanier; he can actually teach, is extremely helpful, makes math interesting, and tells the best stories.
I took him for cal iii, and it was easily the most enjoyable math class I've taken at Vanier. He's an extremely passionate teacher, and his priority above all else is to teach his students as much as possible. His lectures emphasize the magnitude and importance of what we learn, and help contextualize as well as teach. His weekly class exercises help solidify the course content, and the tests are very similar to them. He prepares you well, and is a phenomenal math teacher.
Very interesting, passionate teacher. Classes are not boring but he speaks and writes on the board really fast. First test was really easy but the next two were kinda difficult. If you do your homework and the in class exercises you will easily pass.
He is a very nice, kind and knowledgable teacher. His teaching speed is super fast, so you have to pay complete attention to his lecture (that means no phone or facebook cuz u'll miss everything!). However once u get the idea and practice his homework you'll get more than a 90 :) Greate teacher !
Although he is not strict and he likes to joke around, I found his class very hard. He teaches with examples only, with little to no explanation. The average for the class I was in was failing. His tests are also quite hard, especially during the final. Although he has some things to work on, he's always willing to help you outside of class.
Teaches and talks way too fast. Found it very hard to learn with him, very very low class average. Hardests tests ive ever written.
In the beginning of the course he would move at a moderate speed but around the end he rushed the class to learn the needed material in 2 weeks before his test. Teaches very well, knows the topics, tests were moderate, but has to work on timing. Attendance is not necessary but it is recommended.
Is a bit hard to understand, talks fast and doesn't always go back to explain certain problems. But overall a decent teacher. He tries to give lots of examples and help you understand in different methods.
This teacher is an extremely helpful, knowledgeable and interesting teacher. He has very flexible office hours, you just have to ask him for help after class or e-mail him. He also knows a lot of stuff and has very interesting lectures (he will spend time talking about interesting topics, but not too often). The only is that he does rush through topics sometimes, but he'll always take more time if you raise your hand and tell him you don't understand.
amazing teacher, easy tests. if you know your stuff you can get an easy 85 in his class. recommended strongly
Good teacher, provides interesting material. Studying is essential to pass the class.
Talks like Nico Belic from GTA/a fusion between both aliens from Lilo and Stitch. He's a great teacher and very fair, kind, and knowledgeable. Beware though, you'd better do all those suggested proble
Although he's respectful, classes are often arduous as he likes rushing through everything. I also find that he didn't prepare us well for tests, since the workload was quite light and sometimes irrel
Good teacher. Really knows his stuff. He's always willing to help outside of class and he really cares about his students. Sometimes I had trouble understanding in class, but its because the course ma
I did better in Linear than Calculus thanks to Ivan. He really knows the material well. Exams are very trivial and you don't even have to study.
Honestly, I did not like the way he taught at all. The way he gives proofs for linear algebra is ridiculous and the proofs can be quite daunting, I went for a 95 cal 2 avg to an 85 in linear, not that
He knows his materials very well. Well-explained, although sometimes his accent may be hard to understand and that he explain a bit fast. But, he is a very good teacher in Vanier, and he is also very
Phenomenal teacher. He explains everything VERY clearly (he even recaps often!) and if you don't get something you can just ask him in class. Overall a very kind and considerate human being as well.
His notes are about 90% theory and 10% examples. His tests also have a lot of theory questions on them. Not the best teacher, and his Russian accent might also confuse you on top of that.
One of the best math teachers in vanier hands down, always there for office hours and is an extremely nice and entertaining guy. Tests are very easy if you actually study.
makes u save $130 for a book that u won't even need, generous marker + his exams are easy :P fun accent and funny expressions lol, his webworks are easy :)
I don't really like him, not because of his accent, because he rushed the material really fast towards the end!!! AVOID
honestly if youre good in math u should understand everything with Ivan although hes got that accent lawll but yea get this teacher hes really good
Great teacher!! take him if you can! good explinations, and will help you if you need help! just do webwork and copy notes and you'll do well.
his tests are EXACTLY like the examples he gives in class so just study those and youll be fine! but he is pretty shy and hard to understand because of his accent
hes an easy teacher, just do webwork, take notes and listen and you'll be fine. he isnt very sociable though
nice man who's willing to help you one on one. That help may come in handy in the 2nd half of the course cuz his class lectures are a litlle too vague, so it's harder to keep up.
great teacher, just put a little effort in, make sure you can do your webworks and go to class and you should get 80+ easy. Great teacher, really cares!!
good teacher.. talks fast.. u really have 2 pay attention 2 understand.. ask questions infront of the class, he might not even answer them but just try,if not ask him in person cuz ull be sure 2 get ur answer CLEARER.. dont get the book, u wont even need it.. do the webwork and study it cuz it might be in the exam.. wtv work that he gives u study cuz they might be in the exam actually..
Good teacher, but he does go really fast. The exams are ok. Be sure to pay attention in class and do the WebWork. The questions in the exams reassemble the examples he gives you and the questions on the WebWork. If you wanna pass his class be sure you really pay attention in class.
really good teacher. explains material clearly but a little too fast. very easy tests.
This guy is laid back but he teaches math like he is racing & is always in a hurry. His tests are not too hard. Study well from the math book & you'll make it.
He's extremely easy marker. You can skip all the classes and still having good marks. Hes always ready to help the students. best teacher i had last semester
The best math teacher i have ever had, this teacher really cares about how ur doing and takes time to help u if u need it take him u won't regret it
dis guy is sooo chill u can skip all da classes n jus come for da tests and still get 90s....jus skip his classes n go 2 him for help n he will xplain everythin
extremely easy !!! u can spent the whole semester without doing any works and still get an 90 !!! exams r soo easy!
teacher rushes through everything.....only gives examples..and doesnt care if you do your homework or not..you can pass every exam but still fail the semester
He's an excellent teacher. He's very helpful and the best teacher i've had at Vanier College.
Cool teahcer. Best math teacher I've had at Vanier. You will, however, probably have to do your homework.
FUNNY teacher! You will get lost after every class so you will have to work on your own to understand because he explains SO fast and unclear with russian accent
he's a very nice teacher, he will always try to help you out and is very easy.
easy tests, you dont understand anything in class...lots of trying to understand on your own
