I'm usually v v lenient in terms of judging teachers but this man has like no soul. His class is just bare powerpoints and u cant even hear the guy (and then he acts like you're dumb when you ask him a question). I just had NO motivation in his class - and if you want to succeed, you'd have to read the textbook through and through. Alsooo I didn't even know he existed before I had him as a teacher. That's how insignificant he is

This man is just by far the worrsttt chem teacher i have had. He will KILL YOU WITH POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS. DOESN'T EXPLAIN OR TALK. HE HAS A SOFT VOICE. He looks knowledgable but the man just copies and pastes other teacher's notes. And re-explains from powerpoint. He will give you a test and you'll wonder, where in my notes IS THIS.The tests are meant to fail you. Stick to physics or sth else. But not chem with this guy. His explanations are just bogus. No clarifications
RETIRE. TIME'S UP.

Hoffman by far is the WORST science teacher at Rick Hansen Secondary school. He teaches chemistry and is horrible at what he does. Hoffman will teach you one thing in class and ask for something 10x harder on a test. Hoffman also doesn't know how to mark properly as hes marked my test answers wrong when they were right so many times. If you get hoffman id suggest you immediately switch out of his class

I think he's a great teacher. People hate him and I don't know why... so helpful and understandable. He didn't like me that much but its okay. I recommend Mr.Hoffman for students.

I actaully dont know why people hate him so much. he is a fair teacher and he is preparing you for uni. had him for grade 11 chem, got a 81%. For his tests, you must study all the book. you must do all the questions in order to get above an 80.However, wwhen you ask him a question he makes you feel dumb and that you should not be taking this course at all. Overall, like many others, he is mroe like a professor and not really a highschool teacher. THANK GOD I DONT HAVE HIM FOR GRADE 12!

Fantastic teacher! He teaches the way it's supposed to be done. A lot of students complain about his teaching style - it's very university-like. But the reality is it's a U course, so you should get used to that style or maybe university is not the right option for you.

Ok so here is the rundown. Teaches well, but notes aren't clear enough. Willing to help out any time. He will count quizzes ONLY if it brings up your mark. Individual for each person obviously. I got a 60 in his first test. 70 on the other and 100 on the next one so far. Also he marks pretty eas

I had him for grade 12 chemistry. He has decent notes and examples, but the problem is that they lack detail. Sometimes he explains well, sometimes he doesn't. Honestly, the only reason I did well was because I used Mr Lam's chem notes. Do this, and you'll actually do well. USE LAM'S NOTES

RUINED MY GRADE 11 HIGH SCHOOL ESTEEM! I wish everyone who has him, good luck. Easily, the worst experience I have ever had in learning. Even if you read the textbook, he still pops random questions on tests. He also is away from class a lot :(. He is not approachable or understanding. 0 out of 10.

pretty cool but....just gives us the examples from the textbook during the lesson... a lot of independent learning...tests alternated with easy hard easy hard...good vocab...random things on tests that we didn't learn...overall okay if you read the text and ask questions

He is a very nice teacher, but if you have him for physics have fun.... you will need a sense of humor.... not only that he is understanding. Apparently he is good at teaching chemistry and normal science.

Teaches bad... no enthusiam... talks to the board.... when taking up question.. he does it on the board ... moves equation around and waits for students to just plug that in the calculator... Recently half our class went down to talk to Ms Dussiame about this issue.. his teaching is a real issue.

The worst teacher I ever had. He doesn't explain things properly, talks to the board and doesn't make it clear on what he is doing, doesn't label diagrams and he is hard to follow. If you ask a question or make an honest mistake he makes you feel really dumb. He shouldn't be a teacher. Just terrible

Not a bad teacher if you don't find science too tough. If you struggle w/ chem, then he's not the best teacher, because he expects a lot from his students, and doesn't like wasting time going over things too often.
