Creative teacher who prepares her students.
Shields was one of my favorite teachers no matter what people say. I loved her and how she always wanted to incorporate drama into an assignment. I was really sad to hear that she was leaving or retiring because I would of came back to visit her many times. Also sad she didn't attend out commencement, but she will always be remembered. Proud to be her favorite ghost student of 2014/2015
Ms. Shields was one of the easiest English teachers I had. Yes, she wasn't exactly clear on the criteria of each piece of writing but she was pretty predictable in the sense that you knew what she wanted to hear. I wouldn't say her class helped me improve my writing, but definitely a mark booster.
her way or the highway
She should not be a teacher. She'd rather have students know nothing about english as a language or critical thinking, and prefers to test them on completely irrelevant things. Also has favorites, of course.
- unfair - unclear - unkind - unhelpful - inequitable - inefficient - discouraging - strays from the values of TDSB
She has a very calming voice and treats her students so very kindly. I really miss her.
This woman works hard and has strong ethics. I am so happy to have had her as a teacher.
she is an insanely hard marker, when you ask her about your marks she would say that you did really good when she actually failed you...
Most meanest, detestable, sarcastic and hypocritical teacher ever! She blames her own problems on the student, for example-when she gives bad instructions, she blames it on the students' fault
very unpredictable and hard to read... doesnt make her expectations clear... but i've had much worse... didnt exempt me from final exam and i end up with an 84 at the end of it all... how's that work?
she hated me in grade 9, but i got on her good side in OAC
A very relaxed teacher but often unclear about her expectations of students and assignment goals. Not much help either, since her advice is usually vague.
