English is my favourite subject but I've never been so miserable in a class before. Although I'm all for "being pushed out of my comfort zone", I felt as though his relentless picking on students only made them more afraid to voice their opinions and perspectives on lessons, at least that's how I felt. My confidence in myself and my writing decreased in this class, because rather than learning, I spent the whole time worrying about being humiliated in front of the class by Claysmith.

Had this teacher when I was in grade 8 and 10. Hes my favourite teacher to this day. Honestly out of all the teachers I've ever had he makes learning a blast. He is pretty harsh on the marking but that only pushed me to do better and I sorta understood how to get good grades in his class after 2 years. He taught us how to write essays perfectly and im soooo thankful to have had him in grade 6. I noticed that most of the people that compain in his class barely try.. literally just do what he says

Best english teacher i've ever had. He actually teaches you how to write a proper essay and to think "outside of the box". His assignments are pretty reasonable and his tests (and how he marks) are really fair, if you study well enough. You probably won't feel comfortable with him initially, but u'll end up really liking his class. You will learn A LOT.

I had Clay-Smith for grade 11 English. He was probably one of my best and most memorable teachers to date. Although he can be quite harsh on the marking, he's extremely fair. He makes you think outsid

Clay-Smith cannot spell, has little to no real insight into literature, and plays favourites. He should not be teaching young impressionable minds, and should certainly not be given the enriched class
