amazing. cant even begin to explain how much he understands how to explain concept to us. although he roasts his students a lot, you'll learn so much math and have a really deep understanding. I have della this year and it is a TOTAL LOSS
One of the best math teachers I've had. He's very clear and won't hesitate to help if you ask. As long as you try, he probably won't call you out on anything, but if you blow off the review work your grades will really suffer.
Very smart and intense individual. Has a quick wit and uses it often in class, but will not hesitate to call you out if you aren't up to his standards. In my experience, he is not the most sensitive teacher, but is never unfair with his statements or actions. Very good at teaching. Information is clear and concise.
He can be a bit rude at times but he's hilarious and a really really good teacher. Best math teacher I've ever had
Ruthless, but very, very clear and helpful. If you put effort into his class, you WILL succeed. Wish he taught every class.
Really high expectations (as previous rating states). Great teacher, interesting jokes, captivating and usually clear teaching style. Quite intimidating at times, and will hunt you down if you do not show up for class.
Very tough teacher that expects alot from his students, but no more than what he expects of himself. Very organized, on top of things, and although intimidating or condescending at times, is the best math teacher I've had. He's very serious about the classroom and projects that seriousness to his students.
Lack of empathy, overall a good teacher though he can be rude to students but he loves cryptic crosswords
Very good teacher. If you do well as a student, chances are he's going to try to make your life very difficult... but regardless, he knows what he's teaching.
Often very rude and condescending. Seems to think he's the best math teacher out there and refuses to admit when he is responsible for a student not understanding or a class doing poorly on a test.
I've never had a teacher who was so organized and on top of things. It's too bad he's not teaching AP Calculus next year.
omg i love him! his cryptic crosswords are amazing :)
VERY FUNNY TEACHER. And very knowledgeable. It's amazing what he knows. Calculus class is really fun with him, and it's not overly difficult - as long as you do the homework and/or do the review questions before tests you should be in perfect shape since he lets you know exactly what COULD be on the tests. At the same time his sense of humour is really good :)
He is a great teacher because he gives clear expectations of what he wants and if you fulfill them, you will do well. Fantastic teacher too.
Can sometimes be a little rude, but is amazing at explaining the material. His notes are the most organized things in my binder!
Best math teacher at UTS. He gives it his all and inspires everyone! I have the feeling he doesn't like me all that much, but he still is unbiased in marking and offers all the extra help I could want
awesome teacher.... despite mad trolling on the last test
If his teaching style works for you he's great. If it doesn't, he doesn't know how to help. I do think he really tries, but he doesn't really understand math anxiety.
Mr. Simpson is...interesting. I was really scared of him at the beginning of F1. He's better now. He teaches us the most random things that don't even relate to math. Fair marker!!
Not only did my math improve, but so did my vocabulary, spelling, and general knowledge of the world! TREASURE the pearls he gives you.
He's such a great teacher, marks very fairly, and his classes are so much fun. I can't believe I didn't like him in F1!
Mr. Simpson goes out of his way to explain things to people who don't get it. My log division has defintely improved during drills now that I know how to do it.
How is he mean!?!?! He is so nice, and he explains things well, even if we do get off topic sometimes.
A very dedicated and clear teacher... but expects too much from his students on tests => unsympathetic, even if you DO work hard. very difficult class.
i'd say the best math teacher i've had at uts. seems really inflexible but not bad when you really get to know him.
I found him very helpful. He is good at explaining concepts. He does however put you on the spot and get angry. A few people in my class left crying on occasion
Very good math teacher, he makes way too many bad puns (may the 4th be with you) but is a good teacher...
fun teacher, but gets way too angry way too easily. usually great, but extremely mean once in a while.
Dial 1-555-SIMPSON if you like math! Sigh... I'm really bad with numbers. >.< But at least I realise that it's my fault ^.^ -PM of Chuckoslovakia
a good teacher but the best math teacher will always be Dr Rice
A great teacher, but his puns are not funny (then again- whose are?). AP calc is so easy and straightforward (median=95).
he has the talent for making math seem simple, great teacher!
Truly brilliant. A tough, but fair teacher. Work hard, and you'll be rewarded
