First of all Mr.cope is a great teacher!! From what people say, he's like 1000X better. But his lessons barely help and teaches the class too quickly!!! I recommend students who are actually interested in comp.sci to take this course or else its hard to get high marks. Other than that, his tests are fair and is a funny and nice teacher!

He is a teacher who can teach but, for the most part, too lazy to teach. He can be quite mean at times and drags your mark down. But at the end of year, he raises your mark since he knows he is being too harsh.

A nice and fun teacher. He had improved a lot over the years. People say that he is not knowledgable but i dont think so. He teaches quite well and clear for the the parts u learn in D2L during the first half the year, the basics of phython. Then you have to learn almost everything yourself for pygaming, which takes place during the second half of the year. The best thing is he BOOSTS your mark in the end! I had him for 2 years, overall, an enjoyable experience.

Despite all the bad (and also outdated) reviews, I find Mr. Cope a really likable guy. Although every now and then his jokes may be a bit off and reused, I really think it's the effort that counts. Honestly for the rating that he got in the past he could be a lot worse. He himself realizes that he was a bit of a difficult teacher in the past and is working to change it.

Had him for CS last year. Really likable guy, though he didn't really know too much about what he was teaching (Though he is experienced in Computer Science). That said, if you're independent, you'll have an easy time; you can just teach yourself because his assignments aren't particularly difficult. Do be sure to look at the notes he makes though, since obscure things he mentions in them might be on his tests. Good experience in the end. Missed "36/31" classes (yes, 36) last term and got a 99.

I had him for computer science and he was awful. He is not a real computer science teacher. He doesn't properly teach. He just gives you a few links and expects you to learn on your own. He also doesn't admit to his mistakes.

Talk about BS. Firstly, he rarely shows up to class. Secondly, he's completely unreasonable. For our first assignment with him, the questions asks us to "Describe a VARIETY of...", and naturally we describe several of the desired topic. Next class, he tells us that we APPARENTLY were only supposed to describe ONE. He gave everyone back their work and said we had to do it over. The most BS part was that we all could only get a 60 at best because he was still marking it late. F*** You Mr.Cope.

He's pretty strict and expects exactly what he wants whenever he feels like. Also, he doesn't always know his stuff and doesn't admit to his mistakes! Make lots of notes in his class as he expects you to know everything...even what is in the textbook. His tests are pretty short but right to the point and can be quite difficult, so study hard!

Hands down the worst physics personnel in Earl Haig relative to the rest of the department. As a teacher, okay in that regard but will belong to my top most hated teachers list because of his habit of returning assignments a month after its due.

He honestly did nothing more than show us an excess of 50 videos. Oh, and he also gave us comprehension sheets for each video! His tests are really hard becaues he doesn't teach you the content he tests you on. His attendance over the year was deplorable, and the substitute that he contacted knew even less than he did.

POOR GRADING SYSTEM. People who have colorful/nicer homework dont deserve to have higher marks than other students who have the correct answers. What's important is your students understands what you teach and answers correct answers on their homework or test. As long as the answer is correct, they deserve the points! it doesn't matter if you have colorful/nice/very clean homework/quiz paper, cause at the end of the day, the correct answer is what really counts!not being too neat or presentable!

He is one of those "Ryerson engineers". He himself admitted that did not know much math, let alone the fact that he could not properly teach or clarify things for students. His tests are hard and one should imvery mediately proceed to switching class after finding out that his/her teacher is Mr.Cope. Nevertheless, he is very funny,

Mr. Cope can teach and he occasionally makes jokes during lessons. It's fun to learn from him, but my only complaint about him is that his tests aren't fair, as he gives questions that we haven't even done before in class. However he is a person who does appreciate students for trying in his course.

Here's little advice to future Physic students who got cope as the teacher. The reason Mr.Cope's marking scheme seems random is because he uses the method of "median". That means that if you had 3 tests, with 2 of them being 100% and one of them being 0%, your average would be 100%. This method could be good for you as well as bad, i recommand taking advantage of this method! If you dont have time for a test, just get a zero, it won't effect your grade at all lol.

i used to think that he only lived for linda and misty but thankgoodness he finally stopped talking about them. he has some obession with the national anthem or maybe it's just his crazed patriotism for his country. he gives all his classes quizzes that he wrote for his grade 12's cuz he's too lazy to write new ones. his tests are so hard, and irrelevant from what he teaches. i guess he can be a nice guy, but a very strange sense of humour.
