Mr Young is one of the easiest teachers if you keep up. He assigns homework every night, which was just reading the textbook and filling in blanks on a worksheet for completion marks. His weekly tests are simply just did you do the homework and if you do poorly he will let you rewrite it no questions asked. He usually teaches using overheads for more of a lecture style, which is great for getting students used to how university works. He's dedicated to helping every student succeed.
Great teacher if you do your work, he is very knowledgeable about business. He is a great guy, he is always happy and he clearly loves his job. You may hear bad things about him, but i guarantee these things are not true. He deserves to retire, yet he still goes on, and continues to be a great teacher.
Mr. Young well earned and well deserved retirement will be a great loss to the future students of this school. He's an amazing teacher, and a wonderful example of what it means to be a good man. I hear he is managing the sports dome in Barrie now.
I had Mr. Young as a supply. He tried a few years ago and they hired him back to fill in for my teacher who was ill. He was great.
He needs to learn new methods of teaching, his unfocused ranty lectures do NOT help anyone in the class understand the curriculum. There is homework every night, a test every week and all the work/information is from 2003. I enjoy business and plan on pursuing at as career so it is sad that my schools only business teacher is Mr.Young.
If you like hearing a guy go on for over an hour about the university he went to 40 years ago, this is the class for you!
Knows his stuff in a theoretical sense, but clearly has given very little thought to the practical side of what he teaches. Which is to say, he knows how to relay facts in a clear and concise manner, but doesn't seem to have been programmed to form an opinion about any of it...which can variously be either a plus or a minus, I suppose. Bit of a roving eye towards the young chicas. An unfortunate tendency to inappropriately single certain students out for ridicule. Kind of a weasel.
I had him in grade 9. He took out all out for breakfast at Christmas time. I learned a lot of useful things in his class. Didn't he retire in 2013?
Pay attention, keep up with work, and Mr Young will reward you. Fail to do so, and you will do poorly accordingly. Mr Young is always available to help students at lunch and after school. The most enthusiastic teacher I have ever met, he truly wants students to succeed.
Mr.Young is a great teacher, as long as you pay attention, come to class and put in a good effort. He's almost always available since he stays during lunch and after school and is usually free so you can ask him questions very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. mb
Mr. Young is a very good guy if you are willing to keep up on your assignments, do what he assigns you and be very dedicated to his class, you will excel. I got over 80 percent and an award when I graduated from Barrie Central. Very good school with good teachers.
He made me work hard, but the work was not difficult when you kept up. He was on your case if you were not keeping up so many slackers complained.
Yeah, the eyes thing is a bit sketchy . . . I didn't learn a lot in his class, either, just had to write a lot of lines. Still got a good mark, tho
He's the best Chess coach ever!!! I hung around with him at lunch all the time =)
if your a gurl he doesnt look into your eyes when he's talking to you...if you get my drift...
Mr. Young is so very cool. He is very easy to work with, he never assigns too much homework, is very friendly.
He gives out alot of assingments and stuff.. but for the most part he knows what hes talking about.. he also sticks around the school untill 5-6pm which is great if u need help... pretty good teacher
Mr young can be nice, depends who you are. Also what kinda mood he's in. it's kinda funny when he gets mad at a few students. Or when he tries to lock the pcs.
Depends on your sense of humour really....you can be a really bad student and not pay attention, but if he likes your sense of humour, and jokes around with you then you're good to go!
Not the most exciting guy around, but hes a good teacher
I can't say anything about him that isn't mean. So I'll say nothing.
