He's a great teacher, but unfortunately he retired this year. :(
I used to despise math, but he's made me love it now. His explanations are crystal clear and he's really patient with students. He does pick on students for answers, but he does it with the intent of helping you. And he's really patient when you don't know the answer. Very nice person and really knows what he's doing. Best math teacher I've had.
tall, overall pretty nice :)
mr mitchell scared me so much at the beginning of the year but now i look forward to math and laughing for the whole class. he makes math really fun, but of course expects you to do your best.
@ the 40-year-old who's writing reviews about his teacher from high school : he probably failed you because you didn't try, get over it.
as long as you put effort into your work and USE THE MOODLE, you will do well.
He's a great teacher, he knows his stuff and is willing to help his students. He also has a good sense of humour. Oh yeah, he's gifted too! :)
Obsessed with the Harvard of the North (aka U of T) and will trash talk your university plans (and trash talk something about you in general) no matter what you do. Super enthusiastic and very dedicated teacher. MD is blessed to have him
AMAZING teacher. lots of work, make sure you pay attention and ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT. test and exams are hard, but he does such a good job of explaining everything that it doesn't matter.
Extremely hard teacher, but explains ridiculously well to the point I'd say that no other math teacher can explain better than he can. Makes math fun, but sometimes asking for help from him makes you feel stupid, but still insanely clear and great at explaining.
i am almost 40 years old now - had this a-hole who failed me and made me take summerschool in grade 10 , hands down the worst experience ever and worst teacher. I am in the States now a successful MBA and business owner - but if i ever see him when i visit Canada again believe me i will kick his as
[PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE] "I'll dictate!" CLEARLY, his math is pretty hard, but he's soooo funny!!!! definately made math so much fun
He's a pretty nice guy and good teacher. He always gave us lots of extra time and there were always bonus marks.
Pretty hilarious. Loves kefir. If you make an effort to keep up in class then you'll do fine. He also tries to be really helpful :)
Funny guy. Can seem very dramatic in class, but is a chillz guy outside of it. He can help you, but there is a sort of upper echelon that you have to be at to take his class.
Mr. Mitchell is by far my favorite teacher of all time, better than McLaren, better than Thomas even, he keeps math interesting and is the coolest person in the world. AP calc with him this year was truly the most enjoyable class I've ever had in my entire high school career. Go Mr. Mitchell!
Mr Mitchell asked me to leave his Geometry and Discrete class becaue I was a 'failue' ( below 78% )... so I stayed there and passed just to bother him. Once he has decided that you're an example of 'failure', the only thing he'll try to make clear to you is how he takes his gamecube away from his grade 4 son fo being a 'failure' ( under 85% )
Good teacher but he picks favourites to answer questions, and they're the ones ending up getting all the marks. As everyone else said, spending way too much time on stupid "model" solutions instead of teaching us the real formulas and concepts.
obsessed about communication marks, and will spend classes on end going over model answers instead of concepts. talks uber fast and has this weird thing about math league and extracurricular math stuff. but his horribly lame jokes and good teaching skills make up for it. extremely dedicated to what he does.
Mr. Mitchell is pretty good. even though some may not like him hes somewhat funny...(more like horrible jks) and hes a gd teacher that doesn't drag the whole class down for one person. =)
hate this guy so much. dident tell us about the last exam until the week that we had it.hate him so much
Favourtism Favourtism Favourtism. Since im a fav though hes great
Best math teacher I've ever had. He has the dedication and wierd sense of humour that make him an excellent teacher. (along with just being good at teaching)Just do your work and you'll do amazingly.
Good teacher, hard, but good nonetheless. Great personality, stupid jokes that somehow turn out to be funny. He is very dedicated and aslong as you put effort his classes will be ultimately fun
Great teacher, very dedicated. Truely wants his students to succeed, you just have to put something in first.
Great Teacher. Jokes so bad they're funny. Hard, but if you work, you'll do well.
He'd be a good teacher if it wasn't for the horrendous jokes and the way he makes you follow a very specific format.
Horrible jokes that are funny because they're just so bad. Connects almost explosively with some students, runs parallel to others and drives them insane. Tendency to leave the slow ones in the dust, but in return pushes the bright ones to new heights. You either love him or hate him.
Mr. Mitchell! He really makes math fun and interesting. It's hard to catch on to his teachings at first. However, you'll catch up and go with the flow. Just make sure you follow those model solutions.
i don't understand mr mitchell... when i come in for extra help, i want extra help, not for you to correct my homework. and whats up with not letting ppl go tot he batroom?? sometimes you just gotta go!!
Focuses to much an the top students in the class and disregards and dosent help the student stuggling in his class. Has VERY apparnt favourite students.
his jokes are not that funny, but he is a gd teacher
it took a while, but i think i like you. phoning home really DOES work, go figure
Really nice guy, easy to get along with. Good overall teacher.
I can't believe there isn't a collinearity of the smilies. He's a great teacher. Of course, my dog can eat his cat as a snack. :) In retrospect, his tests aren't that hard. The 1.1 saves you if you know what you're talking about.
no, i will not babysit and no, you cannot come over to my house!
funny guy, drives around to listen to tapes??? Great teacher/ great
Shallow. I dropped his class, he ignores my existence.
does anyone else think it's kind of freaky that he knows where everyone lives
caring guy. really tough marker and equally tough lessons.
Come on, somebody put their hands up, not just so goofballs...
he needs to have more than one joke with each person
good guy. comes up with really irrelevant jokes in class
he thinks everyone should be a gifty and should know all their stuff already!
Mitchell is great! With great power comes great responsibility
he has a great knowledge of math; he is good to help students that do their work
Best AP Calc teacher you can find around, easy to make fun of him.
Usually dumb people don't get his jokes. Everyone in my AP class do get them.
His lessons can be boring sometimes.. esp when you dont like his jokes..
Great sense of humour, but his FIRST assumption to a problem is your HW habits
He makes no sense, everytime you mess up, he tells you that you should know it
Intelligent wit and humor...loses all but the smartest people's interest.
