Had for western civ. Super difficult exams. Take super detailed notes and study thoroughly, and you will do well. Other people found her really strict but guess what you're not supposed to gab loudly with your friends through the entire lecture -.- Honestly so disrespectful. So, don't talk over the lecture, be attentive and ready to give answers. She really appreciates the effort, even if you give a bad answer. And always be really detailed in your exam answers and homework.

She's very knowledgeable in certain aspects of her domain. However, when it comes to current controversial issues it seems she is very misinformed and when someone corrects her she gets very offended. Her "facts" are always given with an undertone of her self-made personal opinion. She will often in a way impose her opinion on a matter by describing an event with (positively or negatively) connotated words. Idk if it's on purpose or not but it's very easy to get offended by her. Messy class

Took her for third world history. Such a knowledgable woman! She really knows what she is talking about. She's a bit disorganized especially during lectures as she goes in all sorts of directions and your notes don't add up. She expects you to remember A LOT for her tests (and specifics to get full marks) but gives you very clear and helpful study guides. Majority of the tests are from the readings and not lectures! HIGHLY recommend her if you enjoy history.

I personally thought she was strange teacher. She was treating the students like early-high school kids by checking homeworks and forcing you to take notes. She also forced the students to buy the textbook (like 100$) while we used it like three times in the whole semester. Tends to give her personal opinion too much (even offended a student) and takes the material too seriously when it's all high school material everyone should already know. Fairly easy class, teacher not too approachable...

I personally thought she was a decent teacher, shes pretty knowledgeable about what she teaches. She can be rude in some instances, and won't remember your name all semester and will go on rants about the attendance of her classes. The methods she uses for her reviews before her exams aren't well received and offended a student in my class. Shes decent overall.

She takes what she teaches very seriously with an emphasis on her personal ideas that was sometimes not delivered appropriately and in my particular group offended a student. However, her exams are fair and when given the chance she is a good teacher. If you take notes and read up in the text book when she gives you REFERENCE pages it will be very helpful, she doesn't make you but its VERY helpful. She is not very approachable and I felt as though she was always very condescending and sarcastic.

Diane Shea is a very intelligent person.. but I think she has to be one of the most miserable teachers at the college. She always looks like she is irritated and she can be a bit rude at times. Just do your work and get the class over with. It kinda sucks because the course material is so interesting but her vibe totally kills the class mode. She should smile more and try not to look so annoyed all the time. Also, she uses a projector for notes so you should probably sit in the front.

Had her for west civ. She has to realize it's not an Effing feminism course. All I hear from her is "women rights, women, poor women, rich women, voltaire's attitude toward women," and the list goes on. She has to get her head out of her ***.Doesn't know due dates, doesn't write anything down, and a horrendous attitude towards students. Overall boring class. Avoiding her is a must.

She is disorganized, monotone, reliant on the book and an overall b*tch. She marked me absent for most of the year even though I only missed two classes. Teachers are supposed to have fun teaching you they say. It looks like she hates her job and she's taking it out on the class. She never explain's anything properly and all the tests are on the textbook, so taking notes is irrelevant. I used to love history in High School I got low 90's, now I hate F*CKING hate it. She should just retire.

The most disorganized teacher I've ever had. Never knows when things are due, she has to ASK the class if there was homework or an assignment. She loses essays and then blames you for not handing it in on time. Her tests are pretty easy as long as you take notes in class. Don't text or skip class, she takes attendance and removes marks. Be ready to study the entire textbook for her exams. She never writes things on the board, you need to listen and not miss a thing she says to do well.
