I had Mr. Passaglia when he was a gym teacher at Cunningham Elementary. He would stress the importance of daily physical activity and proper technique. For example, when shooting a basketball, he explained how the ball should be balanced on the palm, ball directly under the elbow, arm forward and bent in a 90 degree angle, body square to the hoop; and, when the shot is taken, drive with the legs, extend the arm, and "place the hand in the cookie jar" to ensure proper rotation. He never missed.

He was a great principal. He was very helpful when dealing with some students making racist remarks about me.
