Very helpful and great at explaining lessons in a way that is interesting and holds your attention. He makes lots of jokes to keep the atmosphere as lively and interactive as he can
Basically a God
Great teacher. Also heard he beat up a 4th degree blackbelt from korea
Dont agree with how the "easiness, exam difficulty, and textbook use" affect the rank as a teacher. Calc is not an easy subject, the calc textbook is technical and very difficult to understand unless you are exceptionally good at math, and if he has done his job, the exam should not be super difficult. All that being said, by far the best teacher I have ever had. He has a clear grasp on the material and he knows how to communicate it to students in a way that makes sense and that will stick in your head. It is fast paced, calc moreso than previous math programs, but if you are taking calculus you should know what you are getting into. Excellent teacher, IMO best teacher at sardis
The material he teaches isn't easy, but he made the lessons easy enough for those without mathematics majors to understand. He is a bit eccentric, but funny. He also finishes the lesson with time to spare so students can ask questions in class
Mr. Balsillie was the best Math teacher I've ever had! He's hilarious, and no one is going to mess with the kids in his class - not even a strike!
The best teacher you could have for math! Funny and entertaining, and he's always there to help! Honestly the best math teacher I've bet had!
Very offensive, but really nice. Just ask him to entertain you, it makes his day :)
He's great! Offensive at times and he goes a little fast, but he makes the class worth going to.
Best Calc. Teacher ever. So many good times in that class. And, I now understand how to find the limit as x approaches infinity.
Awful teacher, that's all I have to say. Full of himself, was too busy goofing off to ever offer a struggling student help and was sarcastic and rude. He should not be a teacher.
Balsillie rules! My favorite teacher in Sardis by far. Too bad my roller hockey team won the cup and he was left crying... :'( lol.
Balsillie's class is fun and Math Camp ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
his math camp was cool, anyone taking the math 12 provincial should really go.
balsillie is hilarious and his class is a lot of fun!
Balsillie rocks! By far the best math teacher Ive had yet. And I'm in grade 12! He rocks and is so fun...
best teacher ever..class is like watching the comedy channel..math is actually fun and i understand it..balsillie is very easy going and everything he says is hilarious!
Balsillie is hilarious and definitely had the most entertaining classes at Sardis. I know it sounds nerdy but math camp is fun and totally worth it so go! If not you'll regret it!
Balsillie is the best teacher i had in highschool. Easy to get along with and always willing to go the extra mile to help. An example: Math camp what a freaking amazing idea GO.
Good times in math 12! Awesome teacher .... couldn't ask for a better enviroment to learn in. Thanx Balsillie!
An awesome, caring, and funny teacher. Always willing to help. Made math 12 as enjoyable as possible. Math camp is an awesome idea; really exemplifies your committment to teaching.
This guy is awesome. He is usually available during before school, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help a student who wants to do well.
haha balsillie... very interesting experience in your class... funny guy, tells jokes... and makes fun of kids hah but its all in good fun (Y) later man
favours some students more than others. He seems to be one of those teachers who is motivated to come to work because of the student social aspects!
He's a decent guy who tries really hard to be likable... but sometimes he goes off the deep end.
Math 11 is much more clear than my Math 10 class thanks to Balsillie....he's hillarious too!
Your class isn't so easy as I expected it; you keep math class alive with your jokes, now I don't find Math so boring anymore!
jokes around a lot and can actually make math class fun
