Extremely rude, unapproachable, and lazy. Minimum office hours and gets annoyed when you come see him because he rather be relaxing or doing something else. Very bad Macro teacher, compared to other teachers. Speaker very fast and the notes don't even follow the textbook. Give minimum worksheets and prepares you poorly for exams. Its rare that you will find a teacher who cares less about his students then David Dejardins. He thinks its normal when 1/2 of the student fail. Avoid at all costs!
Listen, he knows what he's doing, but he's a horrible teacher. Teaching is not his profession. He's rude, unclear and unnecessarily sassy. Never answeres questions or, if he does, in a terrible way that makes it more confusing. Also he's NEVER on time then gets mad when a student confronts him about it. Also, he never gives marks back within the 2 week period and doesn't put anything on omnivox. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
He's a knowledgable dude... but makes QM so much more complicated than it should be. Not recommended.
Can't believe he gets paid for teaching. Does not answer questions about any assignments/labs, completely disregards his students' confusion, answers questions with "Do what feels right". Makes zero effort to clarify theory and muddles it even more, to make it seem even more complicated. Avoid him, he's seriously an unpleasant guy.
AVOID. He is extremely unclear and a nightmare for any student who is taking QM because they have to and has no knowledge of stats. He fails to properly and thoroughly explain key concepts, almost tending to just glance over them and do an example, expecting students to understand. Rushes through the course and finishes a month early, unnecessary stress. First exam is easy, second one is DEATH. EXTREMELY unclear about project requirements and will refuse to clarify. 70 page QM project. AVOID.
I had David for Quantitative Methods. The class was really boring. He writes most of what he says on the blackboard. His labs are easy, but no one knew what he wanted for his projects. His tests are relatively straightforward if you understand the formulas and study your notes. Don't bother buying the textbook because he never uses it. David is approachable enough, but he gives really unclear answers.
Can I just say he is one of the best teachers I've had at John Abbott. He's mad chill he's got great personality with great teaching skills strongly recommended.
I had him for Quantitative Methods. He's kind of an awkward guy. You get used to him as the semester goes on. His notes are clear. Don't try to understand why you are learning what you are learning. Just memorize the method and use it on the test and you're good. Siri is his best friend, get used to it. I got a 90% in his class, only because i did everything he asked us to do. There are two lab reports, 2 or 3 tests and that is it. He doesn't teach in May.
patient, personable, and helpful. Do what he says, and you'll pass.
He doesnt care, argue's with his ex via text during class and thinks it is normal for the most of the class to fail, I advise that you do not take this teacher.
Do NOT take... Not helpful at all and does not seem to care
DD is the man. Organized and knows QM inside out! Tests are really easy! If you want over 90, read your book!
His exams are super easy, he knows his material, but if you wanna understand you REALLY need to buy the book it helps a lot
I thought it was going to be easy but it was not. the teacher made it really interesting and helped me with the work. There is alot of work in qm but if you do it you will be fine.
I think he is awesome. He let's you hand in stuff late and really is helpful. If you want to learn - you can. If you want to just get by - you can.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I took him and did well, but I had to teach myself the course, he is self-centered and doesn't care about his students at all....I wouldn't take him again if I were payed!!!
not an easy class. his tests are really hard and he doesn't really explain the material that well. Take him only if you think you can handle it.
Had for QM. I am a good student, but was ALWAYS lost in his class. Taught myself the whole class out of the book. AVOID!!!!!
LOVE him. Super nice guy, funny, lets class out early, helpful, flexible with due dates, really awesome guy.
I gave in all my RM stuff late and never handed in one that was worth 30% and still gave me a 65 for the course! But I also find him arrogant and ruthless. Very unpleasant to approach for questions!
he was a really funny teacher, always joking around, but since the class ISS was a hard one, never really put a lot of work in, but ended up passing.he never fails anyone, as long as you hand in something.okay grader.
Just teaches but doesnt go further then that. He never turns around to see the students blank looks. avoid
if you go to class, listen and do the assignments youll pass. when you have questions for the labs he pretty much gives you the answer. great teacher!
He is a great teacher, always there to help his students.
Great teacher. Marks easier than most. He is a bit confusing sometimes, but ask questions and you'll get what he is trying to say.
ok, in macroeconomics, he is the worst teacher i have ever had, he is a hard marker, gives a lot of work, it is true you get extensions, class avr was 40%, i hate it, he talks 2 quick 2 undrstnd, and lets us out 10minutes lat
i had his for Qm and he was a very good teacher. he is easy going, and funny. Labs you can hand them in a week after they are do, and he is a pretty easy marker. show some effort and you'll do fine!
ok so here's the real deal --> dejar is a really nice and funny guy - i once asked for an extension as a joke and got like 2 weeks. His classes are a little impossible to understand but after doing the labs everything makes perfect sense. Don't panic just copy and it will all make sense later. There are 3 tests that are similar to the labs - they are ok - do the labs and ur guarenteed 80s. Don't worry though he marks high on the projects and labs so its v easy to get in the 90's as final if u try.
Best teacher EVER!!!!! Take him! Easy class. Very helpful. Great, down to earth, funny guy!!!
A great teacher who makes class fun and exciting. Not too bad in terms of difficulty and not hard to do extremely well in his class, nice guy on top of it too! Definitely take this guy
This teacher is a COPY PASTE of Jean-Francois Latreille from Ecole Secondaire Felix-Leclerc. The only little difference is that this teacher is way cooler than Latreille. Very funny and good easy classes.
Great guy, funny. Class is a lot of fun even though I didn't always get was he was saying. Labs are easy, test are okay. Take him, you won't regret it.
Cool guy; just have to study for his macro tests which is all from class notes and the book. Makes corny jokes :S just show effort and he will pass you if he likes you
If you can stand his dry sense of humor and very lazy personality, you will love this guy. He's a good IA teacher and a nice guy.
He was the best. You should take him for anything if you get the chance.
He's an amazing teacher if you have a chance to take his class then take it you will not regret it. he is so helpful and will answer all of your questions
funny guy, hes a cool teacher to have. fair grader, had him for ia and did good with fair amount of work. cool guy!
had him for QM and he was amazing! most students didnt like him but thats cause they didnt want to do the work... he makes the class fun! and hes so helpful...
very nice teacher, easy test, easy labs, easy projects. can't ask better then this.
Good teacher but you may get lost in the notes you take but you just have to ask him after class and also ask which chapters to read to understand it better
Super nice teacher. Even though he speaks in statistical terms (so basically no one knows what he's talking about), if you review your notes, you'll be fine.
love him, he was amazing, his tests were exactly like his notes and labs, rights a lot of notes so you understand. take him if you can
david desjardins is the best teacher at john abbott. hes very very smart, sounds like one of the dudes on star trek. very easy going guy when marking
he's a nice guy - he lets you leave early a lot. he wants you to do well and he helps you if you need it
He's sooooo nice and always willing to help, which is good because although he gives a lot of notes, doesn't explain things well in class. A great teach. tho
He is an approachable teacher that is helpfull and cuts the last week
