Mr. Ames is a very clear and nice teacher to have, if you know the basics of the class he's teaching. Otherwise, he will make James cry. I recommend Mr. Ames to any student who would like to have a good understanding of the Sciences and the English language.
He's definitely not the type of person that everyone works well with, although he is certainly knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches. Considering I do work well with him, I really enjoy all of his classes, and while he is certainly not a teacher everyone will love, I most definitely do.
He's totally the kind of person that not everyone works well with. but seeing as i do, i think he's awesome.
Mr. Ames is super awesome, even though he is really strict. I love him at times and I hate him at times. He is super smart and he knows the answer to any question.
Mr.Ames is incredibly knowledgeable and is very resourceful.
I hated having Ames as a teacher. He would never give me the time of day. I would always have my homework on time. but he would always walk by my desk asking my my homework as if I hadn't done it. He yells at kids randomly for barely/no reason.
He plays mind games with his students. Students are not aloud to question him on mistakes that he makes. His students are fearful of questioning if something is marked wrong or he is wrong. Refuses to answer a parent when questioned about a mistake
mr. ames is my fav. teacher
Made me feel uncomfortable. Seemed a little bit off to me
He was overall a good teacher but he was very strict about homework and sometimes on tests were things we did not learn, sometimes not even about the subject we were learning/class. It could be a bonus question on languages if he was teaching Science.
Mr Ames, He is scary and fierce and takes advantage of his terrifying reputation. His classes seem random and fruitless and he is strict in a seemingly sporadic fashion. However, he teaches to those who listen. I was foolish enough to be deaf to this whilst under his jurisdiction, for it wasn't until I graduated that i realized how much i learned. Turns out it was a lot. Thanks.
prepares you for university, very strict yet will make time to help you outside of class, after school, lunch etc. As long as you put effort into his class and dont goof off you should be fine.
he's so mean if you're on his bad side i'm so scared of him he glares at me in the halls and in class has awkward silences and calls in you in class to answer questions he hasn't even taught yet and e
The best teacher I ever had, I would not have survived my first semester of University without him
he is a good smart techer but he should be teaching in a university or college because us high school student arent ready for that kind of level of science
Mr Ames is brilliant and LFAS is lucky to have him. He forces you to work a lot with quality in mind, unlike other teachers. He runs a hard curriculum, but its by far the most interesting.
I like him, he is scary but effective at what he does. one of my favourites.
Mr.Ames is a great teacher. in grade eight he enjoys to intimidate his students, but it pays off because in grade 12 you respect him. Great history teacher and really prepares you for History with the huge essay you write
his voice is monotone...makes me want to fall asleep
Mr. Ames has a very strange approach for kids who are not "top of the class". He has no interest in their learning or achievement and is very disinterested at parent/teacher meeting time.
he is my faverate teacher if you are not a tool he is a great teacher and you learn a lot
learnt a LOT in his classes..tests are weird though because they incorporate things we learned in different ways which confuses you..excellent knowledge of periodicity..has pic of Lenin on wall=cool!
I can't stand Mr.Ames. He's only interested in the kids who are already doing well and has no interest in helping those who actualy need it.
I guess he's a cool teacher just kind of scary sometimes, I get scard to talk to him every once and a while, but other than that he's okay
I don't understand why everyone's so afraid of him. He's a great teacher, and I for one have recognised his awesome (though slightly twisted) sense of humor.
i think he is a good teacher just kinda scary but i like him i think he will help me a lot throughout my education
MR AMES is a really good teacher. i like history alot. and i thought it was going to be boring..yay. even though i never do my homework..eh. jajaja he's amazing.
Mr.Ames is one of the best teachers at LFAS and like some of you have said, if you're willing to let him, he will prepare you very well for university.
Mr. Ames sleeps with rocks! ... I think he's a great teacher.
He's fun and makes class worthwhile...sure he's hard, but at least he's better than Mrs. Cilliers
Have him for history, and he is one of the best teachers i've had - sure class is difficult, but at least i'm learning and enjoying it
Mr. Ames is brilliant. He actually provokes thought, which is more than I can say for most LFAS teachers. If you do the work, you get so much out of his class.
Mr. Ames is indeed intimidating and his classes are very hard, but he prepares you well for university. Study hard and show him respect and you'll be fine.
He's too boring and doesn't teach you well enough unless it's one on one..
sometimes i think you need to explain your self better, that would help out the student alot!
expects college level work & rewards students who work hard. a little odd, but A GREAT teacher overall
MR Aims seemed a difficult back in my day at LFAS but his class was great prep for university, his history 12 class was as close as you get to college level...
Mr. Ames was my teacher back in the day, and he ruled. Great sense of humour.
Excellent teacher - throws chalk at you if you talk in class
extremely tough, but I learned the most from him out of all my teachers
