Pretty good guy all around, is a pretty hard marker though. Most people have 70s or low 80s, getting a 70 is easy, and 80 requires work and a high 80 requires a lot of dedication and knowledge. He is afraid of giving out perfect marks though

Went from having a 91 in Mrs. Kite's class for grade 10 to receiving a 77 in his pre-ap class the following year. Fair enough I didn't put in any amount of dedication whatsoever, but it just goes to show you what kind of trouble you are in if you get him for grade 11 or 12. (Generally I get 90's without putting in much effort)

We went from a strong enmity at the beginning to a pretty good understanding by the end.
My first experience was getting yelled at in the hall for talking somewhat loudly. My last was a great mark and a realization of knowledge and that I learned a ton.
He's a fair guy who taught me about life.

A great teacher, as he's very knowledgable, and smart. However, his marking is very hard, and if you don't put effort into this course you will crash and burn. He's a genuine nice guy though, and wants to help his students succeed if they approach him. Disses other classes, which is great though and the environment is super fun. When you do well on one of his assignments (not a test) it gives you an amazing feeling of satisfaction.

HAS NO CHILL, a total sadist in a typical high school English teacher way. Constantly dissing his Gr12 AP students. Has this demonic little laugh when you ask him a question about a test. Hands out very low grades on purpose, has ridiculously high standards, but overall you can't not laugh in his class. Alright human.

Good teacher but gives the hardest tests ever. There is a reason that so many people failed his class this semester. His notes are terrible and for civics, teaches us useless stuff that we won't need for the exam. He picks the smalelst parts and details in the textbook which people don't even remember and put it on the test. His fill in the blanks are nearly impossible. End of rant.

Great English teacher if you like English. Truly pushes kids to their limits and has high expectations for everyone. If you follow his instructions and truly care you are more than capable of doing well in his class, but if not you're gonna suffer. Gives very few perfects, but classes are enjoyable and projects are fun.

I credit Mr. Sommerfelt for teaching me writing skills that I still use today as a university student. Advice: Go in for help and put effort into every single assignment. He has a heart of gold.
