Where do I even begin!! If you are not good in French then there goes your r score. HIs tests and quizzes are extremely difficult and he shows no mercy at all! He expects all his students to be extremely fluent in french which is certainly not the case! I had a 90 + average for french language and culture and I just passed in his class. Literally JUST PASSED! So all in all he is a terrible teacher and I do suggest you avoid taking his class. If you're stuck with him then god bless your soul.

Avoid at all costs. I am in my last semester, first choice student and he tortured me. Gives too much work, Harsh grader in essays and orals (especially the CE) and is not understanding. I had a 94 in 102 french first semester. I am an honor student who studies all day and has no life and he was able to make it more miserable. If you are in sciences and want to go into pre-med, he will help tarnish that dream and drop your r-score. Tests are super hard and I studied for weeks! Good luck!

Awesome french teacher, I had him for Block B in 102 and despite being awful at french, I finished with an 86 with putting very little effort. He isn't arrogant at all, he's a very nice teacher and probably the best french teacher at dawson.

Had him in my 103 course. He's a very good teacher and a nice person overall. He can help you with anything you need in French and his classes are rarely boring. His tests and quizzes are college level so be ready to work. Unless you are lazy and do not want to work at all, you should not have problems passing his cours with a good mark.

The problem with this class is that he doesn't take attendance, leading to a lot of people skipping class. Because of this, they don't know what they're doing and end up doing badly in the class. If you go to class and actually prepare for the quizzes, you should be fine. He is an easy marker for everything else and the class wasn't so bad.

After looking at all these ratings, I expected a great teacher but instead French was the hardest class. He assigns way too much work and his quizzes are way too hard for the class. He is never clear with his instructions and only talked about birds in 102. He criticizes students all the time. If you don't mind having to do a lot of homework, take him. If not, find another teacher for an easy class.

He's not a bad teacher, but I absolutely hated this class. He gives WAY too much work for a French class. (I had more French homework than all 3 of my combined science courses) I'll admit that I did learn how to properly write an essay of 2000 words, but for someone like me who's going to university out of province, everything I learned was basically pointless.. Unless you like analyzing French poetry and getting quizzed/writing about them, I suggest choosing a different teacher

He's the best. Took him in my first semester, I'm starting my 3rd semester and he's the one I miss the most xD His course is never boring, he uses a lot of different techniques to teach (he can show you videos from the internet, make you listen to music, lecture, make you go see a play, etc), and you barely need to take notes in his class (well idk about the other levels but I was in the 103 course). TAKE HIM.

Do your reading, have opinions, and don't be afraid to ask for help. He's a really great teacher, not afraid to allow heated discussions, and jokes around a lot, but not too much that you don't take him seriously. For the comprehension quizzes, retain little details from the books. For the essays, bring your dictionary and Bescherelle! He even gives you a chance to redeem marks afterwards, which is helpful. Overall, he's a really great and fun teacher.
