He is one of the most insecure teachers I have ever had. The problem is that he masks his insecurities with sexist, racist, homophobic anger. I would hate him if I didn't feel sorry for him. But as other students have said here drop his class and you'll be smarter and happier for it.

Honnestly, unlike what most people who have him this year are saying, I don't hate Mr.C. I guess what I have to say, is that I really think that he would enjoy this more if he were teaching at a university ... He teaches us university stuff that he basically assumes your already supposed to know. I am not going to be an english major, and I'm already busy working on furthering my chosen career... I just wish that he would not give us this much homework, and teach us as highschool students.

He seemed pretentious and self-absorbed at first, and I spent much of the year disliking his class, but this didn't last. Though his classes seemed tedious and irrelevant at times, he always knew exactly what he was talking about. He may seem eccentric, but he was incredibly helpful when it came to improving student's writing and making sure they understood everything. He was always available and accommodating. Not many teachers are as dynamic as him. His ENG4U is a blessing in disguise.

He's a great guy, but sometimes I think he over-analyzes things. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, amirite? Even though my opinions differ greatly from his on some subjects, I enjoy his classes. I only ever witnessed one burst of anger, but I think that was because of something happening in his life that was making him upset, so I can't blame him for a very human outburst.

Really interesting classes. Great at teaching, but can get way out of control. Sometimes it's like he has multiple personality disorder. Has sworn at students before. Needs to caaalm down.
