Nov 19, 2014 Honestly learned nothing from his class. One of the worst teachers I've ever had, and I once had a teacher eat Nutella out of the massive jars and make us watch Family Guy. When asked for clarification, he always answered yes, even if the question went, "Shoould we do this, or this?" So glad to be done with gr 9 Lit. Flag Rating

Jan 10, 2013 He really cares about the students and can really connect with them. He expects your best, so you have to give it to him. He really likes talking about his kid and his little stories. I miss having him as my teacher; he was basically part of our class. You could go to him about anything. Flag Rating

May 28, 2012 Mr. Brown is very demanding of his students, but at the same time very helpful if you ask for it.
While many people think that he is simply a treacherous marker who gives too much grammar work, he is actually being very responsible in teaching students proper grammar and formatting early on so they have greater success in their future places of employment.

Mar 01, 2012 one of the best teachers i have had in high school. he is a hard marker and maybe a little overboard on grammar but if you have him for lit you are very lucky. i learned so much in one year and if you work hard and listen to his suggestions you will do really well. Flag Rating

Sep 11, 2011 He knows his grammar and he really knows how to teach it. He's a quiet guy but if you go talk to him he'll help you out with anything and make sure your assignment is complete. But he also picks favourites and makes it more obvious than any teacher I've ever had. And he's a really tough marker. If you're not one of his favourites and you get something over an 85, you've done a seriously good job. Flag Rating

Sep 11, 2011 Let's start with a positive: he definitely has a great understanding of the material he teaches.

However, within the first few weeks of school he picks out 5 or 6 favourites who will do well, and the rest of the class is left with a 75% or lower grade on every single assignment for the rest of the year.

Leaving his class on that last day of school was the most refreshing moment of my life.

Sep 01, 2011 If you ask him for help, he'll help you immediately. He sometimes changes what he wants for an assignment a day before it's due. Negotiate nicely with him, and it's not so bad. Flag Rating

Feb 16, 2011 Best english teacher I`ve ever had! He really got me excited about english and our class debates were awesome! He is a hard but fair marker, but I have to warn you, if you don`t like grammer you probably won`t like this cours. Twelfth Night with him is the best though he explains it really well!
P.S. If you get him, make sure to get him to tell you the story about the girl who had to wash her hair ;)
I love you mr. Brown!! :)

Jan 28, 2010 To the person who said they didn't learn anything in his careers class: that's not the teacher, nobody ever learns anything in careers. There's no curriculum for that course. Flag Rating

May 06, 2007 He is pretty arbitrary in his marking, and isn't specific enough with guidelines. I agree about the aforementioned favouritism- some excellent students are doing very poorly and are discouraged by it. Flag Rating
