A very caring teacher, I didn't realize the depths of how he tried to help me until years later but If i ever run into him I will be thanking him with a huge smile on my face. He was tough but willing to help get you there. Great teacher, Great man.
A teacher without equal. Ok, so he's a hard nut to crack on exams, leaving little wiggle room, but this prepared me wonderfully for university. He fostered in us a way to actually THINK about physics and not just memorize equations. His exacting standards aren't without compromise, as he always had the time to help if I asked. Thank you Mr. McDonough, if it wasn't for your standards I don't think I'd be signing off like this.
Needs to come out of the closet ASAP
Amazing teacher fostered a love in Physics that I hold to this day. If it were not for him I would not have taken Physics in university. Great man, always had time for all of his students.
Brent, I was a student of yours nearly 30 years ago (84-85). It's hard to believe that much time has gone by. Looking back, I can honestly say "Thank you!". You were a positive influence in my younger years, and you helped me prepare for my working life. Some day, I hope that we can sit down and have a beer.
You are fondly remembered and appreciated. Thanks!
Later in univ, you'll learn that he oversimplified some concepts too much. Nevertheless, that's exactly what a high school is for. Overall, he's a great teacher. Just follow his words and u'll ace.
I have nothing but good memories of him as a teacher... way back in 84/85. Thanks Brent!
Had a nice little conversation with him about droping an IB class, in favor for a class that was a pre-rec for the job i wanted. In his opinon, it was better to have the IB class that wouldn't let me
An absolute amazing teacher who is actually preparing his students for university. You will learn things in his class that will dawn upon you as gems of wisdom when you enter into higher studies.
nice but why'd you have to give 2 chapters in one test! grrr not fair
Full of himself, suffers from "little man" syndrome.
Mr McD. was a fantastic teacher from 1986-1988. He was tough, but fair. He did expect work to be done in his class - exactly what a teacher should do. He inspires people to learn.
He is hardcore IB, BUT if you are nice to him, do your work, and actually try in his class, he will be really nice to you. He's a good teacher, just goes really fast. He's actually really funny too.
Smiles sweetly, Listens with every courtesy, but hears nothing. Completely inflexible. Good at saying no to every suggestion. Not willing to offer alternative courses of action. Could do better.
If you're not in IB, to him, you're considered worthless. Doesn't treat students equally.
Awkward teaching style. Writes in capitals. Never prints extra copies of notes. Changes voice tone arbitrarily to emphasize points, which are already made obvious. love or hate
excellent teacher...the best physics teacher i've had
Awesome teacher, this guy was my idol back in grade 12
