I've had Ms. Johnston for two years so I think my word on this teacher is quite accurate. She's not a bad teacher, she does care about the students and want them to succeed. But her biases can reflect how she marks you, if she dislikes you you're not getting a good grade. Her classes are really boring, and she's never impressed by her students. She can be "scary" and strict so being obedient is a good idea. One thing that was really annoying is that she won't let you go to the bathroom.

She's the best teacher ever!! If you think she's scary at first because everyone else says so.... umm no.... just be on her good side (do your hw and participate in class discussions and also talk to her about something cool, share knowledge and have friendly "talks" with her) and everything would be fine.

Before I went into her class, I heard some reviews about her. It turns out that they were right - although she is an easy marker, but she doesn't teach very well, and doesn't develop a really good relationship with her students. She is also scary. The good thing about her is that she wants her students to succeed. Be sure to do your homework of she'll get mad.

Ms. Johnston is very very organised. She will give you readings to better understand the novel you are studying and concrete notes on how to write essays, how to identify lit dev. Etc. Very open-minded to multiple interpretations as long as you have evidence. Her voice is a little monotone, deal with it.

Of course she would give higher grades to those who share their ideas in-class rather than to the students who are half asleep. Your experience with Johnston matters on how much effort you put into her classes. If you are open-minded, you will have a great time in her class. If you want to improve your relationship with her, listen and take notes in her class, raise your hand when she asks a question and do not be afraid of being wrong; that is how you learn.

I originally disliked Ms. Johnston as I felt that she was boring, but when I actually decided to pay attention, I found it quite interesting. Although she can come off as strict very easily, she has a genuinely kind heart that she actually cares about her students and she works very hard to actually make sure that to the best of their abilities, they succeed.

While this is quite a difficult course with her, she inspires an interest in literature I've never really had before. The majority of classes are just her talking, but if you listen to what she is saying, it will be interesting all the same.

all she does is talk and talk and talk, gives to many assignments one on top of the other and expects to much and to many things to be done by you. also the thinks she's better than everyone else, looks above you when she talks and if you understand her "sophisticated" humor she can be quite mean. she also doesn't explain things very well but expects you to know it perfectly
