I had her for classical music she is very knowledgable and sweet and honestly the class was better than what I expected it was pretty interesting considering it being classical music, if you attend regularly and do the work you will do good!
Beverly is a sweetheart. I had her for classical music and I couldn't be happier :) The class was so easy. If you listen to her and do what she asks, you'll definitely have a good grade. Get ready to go see some recitals.
Research Methods is a boring class that seemed to be useless after the first week. Professor Sing is very helpful and gives you useful advice on MLA formatting and such, but seemed to repeat the same 3 classes of information over and over again for the entire semester. Though she is a kind person, the way she answers certain questions in class makes it seem like the person asking the question should already know the answer. Not horrible, but not great either.
she can't know all the assignments better than the teachers themselves. She is a good teacher, but her course is useless besides the first part of the class which was very useful. Now to practical advice. 1. Try not to miss any classes, participation is a large part of your grade. 2. The textbook isn't that useful, but the MLA handbook is a must! You will benefit from it. 3. See her during office hours! She is super nice, she knows a lot about gargoyles and music :) 4. Its the class that is bad
She's extremely kind and her course Research Methods is not very demanding - there are minimal readings, few tests (just quizzes!) and the assignments are easy albeit long. Nonetheless, the course content and structure is very uninteresting and disorganized. Nobody really knows what the hell this course is about, but I guess we owe it to her for teaching us how to write an MLA-style paper.
Had her for research methods and I simply couldn't care enough to come to class that often. Thinks she's so superior and we're such wayward children, but she can't teach this. Maybe she's good at music, but somebody with a little passion and energy should be teaching RM.
Got stuck with Classical Music and i was pleasantly surprised! Amazing teacher and a really nice person. Class was always interesting and entertaining. Even if you're not interested in Classical Music, you will enjoy her class. She is passionate about what she teaches and it makes you passionate too. Do the work and you'll get high marks. The only hard part, you must go see real recitals. This is difficult if you live far from downtown. BUT WAIT, Who knows you might even become a Bach fan :P
Research Methods, need I say more? This was the class I disliked the most last semester, largely because it wasn't taught in a way that made anyone want to care. People talked during the whole class. Very annoying.
Had her for Research Methods, the class was so stupid but she often let us have study periods which was nice. She thinks her class is way better then it actually is. Her quizzes are easy if you study and there is no exam. The essays and assignments are graded harshly though she pays attention to every little stupid detail. Bad class, bad teacher not recommended. She freaking thought us about Gargoyles
Very boring, learned nothing in her class. She is not very helpful and makes her students feel as if they are always wrong. Definitely do not recommend her.
I disliked this teacher so much. Although she is smart, her lectures never had a focus point; she was either talking about gargoyles or showing a movie on illuminated manuiscripts. Then at the end of the semester, she gives a random paper and expects you to do well on it when her expectations are extremely high.
had her for classical music and at the begging i thought she was kinda strict but she is actually very nice, answers all questions and has interesting methods of teaching, tests are easy - exactly wh
Sweet but SO boring. Makes every answer you give her sound as though you're completely wrong even if you read it straight out of the textbook.
goes off into irrelevant topics! obnoxious! but if you do all your work it is easy to get high marks!
Very easy class. She stutters a lot, falters when you ask her too many questions.
She was nice but very boring. I skipped a lot of class & came out with an 80. She tried to make thins interesting (food for thought) but I guess she doesnt really know whats interesting for 18 yr olds
I had her in classical music and i Rapidly dropped it but then i retook her in Food for thought. She is a by-the book teacher but the course is intersting. Attend class, partipate and do ure stuff!
boring class, cold and boring teacher, just stay away
(food for thought) very very interesting class, take it with her, im in sciences n humanity was always my lowest mark, but wih her, everything is straight forward!!loved the class
Had her for RM, but honestly... it's the most useless class ever... plus she's really uptight
i had her for rm. she didn't know what she was talking about and said the word "um" about 40 times a minute. she's boring and takes marks off for not coming to class.
Food for thought is a very interesting class. She is passionate, interesting, nice, caring, helpful and knowledgeable. Be sure to do your work and not talk in class.
Boring, unreasonable, uninteresting, pedantic and manipulative.
(Classical Music). I have mixed feelings about Ms. Sing. Somedays she could be very helpful, nice and interesting, otherdays its the complete opposite! I think she expects too much sometimes, than other times its too easy.
honestly, she's sweet ... but OMG BORING !! You want to commit sucide or something.
i loved mrs sing! shes a really fair marker if you do exactly what she asks for in her instructions youl get an aeasy 80/90 seriously. shes very interesting..i had her for food for thought very good class take it.
Had her for classical music. Class was boring but the marks were easy to get if you review.
for humanities. this woman is mad boring. fun to annoy tho :D
dont like her class or her. extremely boring. lots of useless assignments.
great teacher will get a good mark if you write precisely what she asks for evry little detail counts majorly. shes really nice
this is for classical music. she is easy marker boring ongoing and tests r easy if u study
Be ready to work to get your grades. She is very precised on what she wants in her assignments and if you do so, then you'll get an excellent mark.
Earnest, sweet woman. V. precise. Cares about little details. Flexible, tries to be helpful, but no one cares what shes's saying most of the time. (Med civ)
a very good person who is an awful teacher. you will learn nothing and do very well in her class.
She has an easy class. Don't do any of the work, unless its for marks. Easy marker...but study vocabulary words! Like grade school, fun class.
a boring teacher, goes thru all material. easy grader. has verbal quirks ("um.."). nice woman. boring, but one of the better ones b/c she grades you fairly.
Very nice woman, boooring teacher. Should be teaching kindergarden.
Music class: She uses a lot of materials to make the subject interesting. For the essays, she gives a handout in which she wrote evtg she wants in it.
Pretty easy teacher, I didn't mind her class... kind of like a high school class.
music class: essays+test. tests are ok if you show up to class and listen. random questions asked on tests that were only mentioned once. sometimes boring-sleep
UMM... well... her class is simple, you can not even go and learn the material yourself. but - SHE'S BORING. and never seems to know what she's talking about.
It's true that she always says UUUUUUUMMMMM but her music class is very easy. She makes us watch a lot of clips and listen to music.
she gives u so much paper work, it reminded me of high school, but as a person she's ok.
Very nice woman. learn what she teaches u'll do v.well!!!
very nice teacher, easy class, doesnt give notes so you need to study on ur own
Self study class, she doesn't teach you much in class, pretty nice though
it's hard not to be clear when you learn nothing. In one week she does what anyo
ummm SHOOT ummmmm ME!! she makes me wanna kill myself with all her friggin UMMS!
