Worst teacher, EVER! Passed me with a 51% because I missed one class due to representing St. Pats at a sports tournament. After that incident, my tests were marked with lower grades than my friends' tests with the same/very similar answers I had -- even the guidance dept agreed she was unfair. I went to night school and got 95% and Werden said it's because night school is a joke. She also told me the University I went to was a joke and that I'd never amount to anything. I now make 3x her salary.
There is an outright nastiness about her. Brags how she graduated with Margaret Atwood but does not teach anything useful. She will make a point and then tries to sell to you the fact of that being very useful and extraordinary. My father who has a Masters in English looked at her comments she had made on two essays of mine and had a talk with her. She changed that one of the grades from 60 percent to over 90 percent and made a lame excuse that she put the 9 upside down by mistake.
An incredible teacher and person - she always took time to explain the lesson and often gave up her time to help students in need. I really think she is fantastic!
She likes to talk about how she's on Weight Watchers, and how bad some of her previous students were. One civies day, a friend of mine wore the school skirt with a frilly black skirt under, and stripped leggings. Mrs. Werden said she looked like a harlot. She favors certain students over others, and likes to bad mouth students she does not like. She is nice to the students she likes, and cruel to ones she dislikes. Try to stay on her good side. Sit down, shut up, and laugh at her awful jokes.
Thank you for saying I would NEVER make it. It motivated me to actually roll up my sleeves and prove you wrong. Thank you for giving up on me, I'll make sure to never be like you and give others opportunities to be better. Finally, thank, thank you, thank you, thank you for weeping later on about my success, it proved you were the one with a problem.
Mother-like to her students. Very cheerful. Reasonably sarcastic. Haha.
She is tough, but it is for your own good. I've learned so much from her, not just about English and Lit, but life in general. Just stay on her good side and you'll be fine.
she's a good person but a difficult teacher, i learned a lot from her. If you stay on her good side she'll like you and help you out. Many people misunderstand her but she is great
Good teacher. Try to be on her good side. Has issues however; hides bitterness and scathing remarks with smiles and "motherly" concern. Particular and narrow in marking scheme.
Sweet teacher...her class was actually fun, rather than boring & we all learned a lot
One of the best teachers, I think the only teacher that actually thought us more then the subject at hand. A pleasure to take her class. Very fair, and pleasant
