Man....the atmosphere in her classroom was very heavy and depressing. She's a nice person but did things that made me dislike her. She was the only teacher in my four years of high school that asked for a physical note from the coaches. Even the coaches were amazed since the names of the athletes are always uploaded onto the system they use.

I had her as my English teacher. Like others said below, she is extremely biased (racially). Hard to get 90's unless you were her favorites. Assumed Asian or brown students were bad at English so If they gave her good essay, she will accuse them of plagiarism because their English wasn't supposed to be good. Good if you are her favorite, if you are ethnic minority, switch from her immediately.

I hate this teacher. We spent 5 months on 1 novel. It was hel. Our summative had LITERALLY nothing to do with what we had been learning all year. She didn't like the folder that I handed my summative in with, so she asked me to hand it in the next clas in a different folder, which wasn't too unreasonable. Then, when i handed it in, she took 5% off because it was "late". let me clarify, when I handed in all the work it was on time, but she refused the folder it was in. She can't teach at all.

I really like her so far, but if you are looking for a mark in the 90's she is not for you. She really is nit picky when it comes to essays. BE AWARE. So do not slack. She gives other opportunities to make it up though. We got vocabulary quiz's (EASY MARKS) and an in class discussion (EASY MARK) My only complaint is she does seem slightly bias towards people who she gets a bad impression of, she will pick on you if you seem to not know whats going on, she can be a bit harsh in that way.

Her English classes are one of those classes you would die to skip every time. I always wished she wasn't around and I just HATE the atmosphere in her class. It's just too much tension and pressure because she picks on you for the smallest things in a very rude manner. Most of the time she's not being reasonable anymore. But as you walk out of her class you'll realize that you actually learned something. So I don't really know if it's good or bad.

I heard that she really cares about the maturity and complexity of an essay. She is really strict in marking essays so do your best in essay. If you got in her class and didn't know how to write decent essays, try your best or expect a Fail or 50%.

A first impression with her is EVERYTHING. Be nice, chat a bit with her, participate in class and keep up with homework. You definitely want to become one of her favorites, they always do well in the class. She will also then pick on basically everyone but you most of the time. I was lucky enough that she liked me right away so I pulled off a 90.

On our last essay, the highest mark in class was 82. The essay submitted had 2 words that were marked as "awkward" other than that, there was nothing wrong with it. She wrote that the essay was "very strong" and that "very good usage of metaphor/imager" "very well-done".
Every paragraph was marked as "Very Good", she stated that all rhetorical devices used were fantastic. And yet she gives 82. This is unfair and I'm not going to take anymore of this if she marks another essay like this.

Her teaching level is poor. She does not mark according to how well done your work is, she marks you depending on how much she likes you.

NOT COOL THE HIGHEST MARK SHE GIVES IS AN 80-85% I"M SERIOUS! One group did an awesome Hamlet presentation and she only gave an 85%. Also, the highest mark on the English Summative was an 82%. I read the guy's essay, it was freaking incredible.

She definately has favourites. If you're her favourite, then your mark is looking good for the rest of the year. If you're not her favourite, then you're pretty much done. Tell her an interesting fact about yourself and maybe she'll end up liking you.
