INTRO TO CINEMA WAS A JOKE! Show up to class and watch movies. THAT'S IT. ONLY 3 ASSIGNMENTS THE WHOLE SEMESTER. NO TESTS. NOTHING ELSE. Easiest complementary class ever, not to mention how entertaining it is. ALSO, most of the movies you'll watch are amazing, only a couple of boring ones. All in all, take him if you can. Honestly a joke. I mean, who doesn't wanna have a weekly 3-hour long class that consists of watching films? However, the class gets taken very quickly. So best of luck to you..
this is the best guy for an easy class. take him if you want a chill class. we basically watch movies and made reviews.
honestly a joke. you dont even need to go to his photography class because there's nothing to do. But he is a nice guy and cares about his students. Take him!
I had Alan for Photography 1 and I have to say that I really liked his class. He doesn't ask for too much, you have to take some photos each week and submit your best to him (this is the assignment). He really loves what he teach and is always available to see your work and give his opinion on which photo he prefers. Also, he doesn't ask you to print a photo each class which will make you save some money.
His classes are boring, and I didn't really learn much in his class. He's a really nice guy though, and he's an easy grader.
Definitely the most boring but also the easiest teacher there is. He doesn't say much in class but when he does, he is so monotone that you can lose interest in what he's saying. Super easy grader and assignments though.
I had him for photo. He keeps you in for the full 3 hours when you could easily do all the work in half the time (he does let you leave early some times). He talks slowly but this class gets you easy marks. Make sure to take close ups of people (fill the frame with their body and face).
This teacher will bore you to death. He doesn't teach you anything about photography or how to take a nice picture. He is very judgemental on the pictures you take even though you're an amateur. He doesn't like any but portrait shoots so if you take any other pictures he will fail you. Basically, he is a big waist of time.
NEVER, hear me NEVER take him in the morning. You'll fall asleep! He is boring, very boring. But it's easy marks. If you understand and love movies - he is not the teacher for you, even though you can get a good grade on the 3 assignments he does in class. But otherwise, if you want to take New Cinema - take someone else.
Very monotone. Kind of boring, but he's really easy with marking. The class was three hours long, but the workload allowed us to leave within an hour.
Don't even bother buying the photo manual, we never used it... I seriously learned nothing about photography in his class, I still have the technical skills of an amateur
nice guy.. you can tell he's sick of his job though- HE SPITS , DONT SIT IN THE FRONT ROW
For photo 1 - easy class just take a lot of close ups and pictures of people
i had him for my optional video class and it was very fun :) if you're a perfectionist like him, then you'll edit your videos like a pro and he'll enjoy your work! he's always there to help and his classes in the morning might be very boring since he's showing really old videos, but overall, a good teacher
Good teacher. Do what he tells you to do and you'll get a good mark, simple as that. Very clear and helpful.
Very easy class. I had him for photo 1 and it was a bit simple and boring but it was a good start for a photography class.
Nice teacher and gives extensions if needed, but I didn't learn anything from him. I didn't learn any techniques or anything. Allows you to take pics of wtv you want but is very specific on grading.
Dear ol' Alan means well and is a super nice guy. For Video 1, if you want easy marks, take him. If, however, you're serious about film, you will learn nothing in this class so don't take him.
intro to film, easy class. 2 assignments the whole semester, show up watch movies thats it :)
In Photo 1 he lets you take pictures of anything you want so take him if you want free reign. Aside from that, I guess he's a decent marker and nice enough.
Good teacher, on the boring side though. Not as depending as other photo teachers, but he wants you to discover your own style. Show up to class and do your work, you should get a decent grade.
really cool teacher! take him if you want to learn about video or photography.
allan harris is awesome. not the easiest marker but he doesnt make you work very often.i would definately reccomend this guy.
Had him for Photo. Super nice guy. Doesn't do lots of theory, mostly time in the lab, which is nicer. Gets a little picky about some stuff, but definitely the teacher you need if you want a fun class.
for Video: Tought the basics and let us explore things further ourselves with the camera. Good teacher, patience and helpful. His class was very hands on and not endless theory:)
i enjoy his class, no hmk, only need your inner critc4 the class. whats better then watching movies and then stating your opinions and thoughts ? if your good at expressing with ink and paper -take !
His class is boring and he treats everyone differently. If he likes you, he helps you alot and if he doesn't good luck to get his help. He helps the students he likes. His class is a waste of time.
Easy teacher and all around nice guy. Cares about students and wants them to do good.
omg, alan is great! hes so calm, nice, and luvs helping out students. no hmw - only 2 assignments the whole semester. no tests, just watch movies in class. takes attendace every class, but classes r worth atttending. TAKE!
He's a chill teacher, easy workload maybe like 2 major papers the whole semester and that was it. Attendance counts though. He is very smart and articulate.
Harris is a great teacher. Intro to film is really laid back, if you want a small workload-option class take him!!! He's nice and a fair marker and you just watch a movie every class.
The guy is allright and easy the only problem is that he doesn't explain things the best. I got 90s in video 1 and it's very easy stuff just basic shots and movies.
Very nice guy and is very helpful, i was never intimidated to ask him a question and he always was available to help me when i needed it. Take him for video 1, shows good movies and gives good feedback, very laidback. Great guy
Alan seemed odd at first but he's very patient and calm, maybe TOO calm, and he'll explain stuff to you until you get it,he's a very good teacher
Great Intro to Film teacher! It can get a little boring at times, but you learn all the basics about film and that's the whole point of the course! Kind, helpful and you will get easy marks.
He doesn't seem to care about his students. He is extremely boring. His class isn't interesting at all and well the movies we watch are not interesting either
Really nice guy. Explinations are brief but he's cool and helpfull
Excellent video teacher! Very clear & if u don't undertsand he won't mind going over it again with u (unless u'r the type who misses class a lot). Funny & fair!
Very good teacher, he is funny. Helps you out alot if you need help. Takes his time explaining. Not a hard marker, but do your work.
He's a great teacher. Treats you like an adult. Not too strict, jokes around, but I got a low mark somehow :S
Alan is the only art teacher who will actually teach art. He is by far the most excellent. Take him for drawing, especially.
cool, he is sort of freaky though, but it's funny...i heard someone say that one day he'll finally snap lol..take his Video 1 class..he's extremely helpful
sorta easy, but boring, and he is super uptight. be careful around him.
You will either find him nice or really mean...depends on your personality
He's the best. I love this teacher so much, Very concerned and good hearted. He
he's mean if you're not doing good..just go to class, do the work and you fine!
THE GUY MAY HAVE RETAUGHT ME STUFF I FORGOT HE IS TRUELY ONE OF THE BEST
Very very nice guy. He will listen and help you if you need it
