Took him twice (Native Ways and Ethical Issues). Both are easy courses. Yes, he can be difficult to understand, but he gives a lot of free marks (12% from collecting class notes and a free 5% for giving an oral presentation - and he doesn't judge your performance...if you present, you get 5/5). Two tests that are based from the textbook, and they are open book. Therefore, as long as you take good notes, you can get an 80+.His lectures don't matter too much since test is based on the textbook.

He's very nice and a very knowledgable man and really knows his stuff but a lot of the time it's hard to understand him, the class isn't very structured but if you attend and take notes it's really easy to pass the only things is he doesn't post any of the grades so you don't no really know how you're doing all semester.

I made the mistake of trusting these reviews. Man oh man this guy was a disaster. Let me say that I'm a good student and I did well in his class, but there was no structure to the class. He lectured but it was basically him just rambling. I don't think he knew anything about third world development. Before the test, you just need to make notes from the textbook and you're golden. But god sitting through his classes was so hard it was so boring 10/10 I would say avoid at all costs.

A very kind and knowledgeable man. He has a lot to say, so take a good notes. The class can be crazy easy as long as you pay attention, which may be difficult at times because it's a lot of lectures that are only interesting half the time, on top of his trouble with pronunciation. Exams are all open book and multiple choice, so textbooks are a must. You can do the "oral presentation" sitting down and reading a summary of your essay. Just don't take advantage of his laid-back class;show respect.

Very boring personality. His classes and lectures are very dry. He is a very hard marker. The occasional documentary he shows will be interesting. The final exam was insanely hard. It had questions on it that I never even saw throughout the semester. The class average was around 60. All the tests and exams are open book, so take good notes. You legit need to read the entire textbook to know random stuff because your notes don't even help at times. He isn't clear at times too.

Took his ethical issues class. It's was ok. It's honestly pointless to show up to class since all of the exam material is based on the textbook. He is very difficult to understand at times. Not very helpful during office hours, he usually just ignores students. Does give out easy marks for the assignments but the exams Multiple choice are tricky
Overall, if you got him it's ok,but don't go out of your way to choose him.

This is one of the most interesting and easy humanities classes you can take at Dawson. While the teacher may not be the clearest at trying to get his point across to students, he is still very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. Class is pretty chill. We tend to watch a lot of movies and do lots of group work. Exam is open book, which allows us to prepare in advance. A few assignments here and there, but nothing insanely complicated. Personally, I would take the class again.

Honestly, I don't think you can pick a more easy humanities class. Took him for natives and the exam was open book, and we knew the exact questions in advance. A couple of small assignments throughout the year, nothing to difficult. he may not be the clearest/loudest teacher but he is passionate and knowledgeable of what he's teaching. If you want an "easy A" this is the class to take, do not hesitate.

Students were immature about his english, since it wasnt his first accent. But he's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. And funny. Gives easy homework and open book tests but you can learn a lot from his lectures and group discussions. Lectures could get boring sometimes but he's chill and lets you sleep. Interesting materials and movies to watch. I respect him a lot, and honestly despise those who made fun of him. Loved him!!

This was literally the easiest class ever, the exams are open book. He also could not care less if you are texting, sleeping, watching netflix, etc in his class which is nice. He's incredibly hard to understand and listen to anyway, but if you follow his guidelines it's easy to pass

At first his courses seem interesting and indeed they are if you can get past his slower pace. However, his homework is best described as a bunch of paperwork. At first you do things such as bibliography of 15 books complete with summaries though the last essay is open-ended enough, just anything to do with native people.
Basically his class is easy, with mainly movies and interesting essays. DO NOT TAKE if you aren't mature enough to deal with someone who has an accent in English.

Had Ethical Issues with him. Honestly, I passed with flying colors. He literally gave us 20% of the total grade for free. He lets you take notes that you could use during the exam. What more can u ask for? Easy class! However, I did not understand a word of what he taught us. Very unclear and unhelpful but you pass with a good grade. Good for your R-score. Isnt' it?
